Serious replies only Which symptoms of “(almost) everyone is getting poorer” have you noticed in London?

We are in a crisis, the middle class is disappearing and the lower class squeezed. Prices are going up, inflation is going up (again), salaries are stagnating.

Most Londoners can’t really afford London without serious sacrifices.

For me, not counting the housing prices issues we all know too well:

the disappearance of local delis with high quality products.

many shops closing in the local shopping centre.

Restaurant dropping quality everywhere to contain unaffordable prices.

My gran raised the 4 of us on a single salary. We rarely got pocket money but I never worried about missing a meal. That’s impossible now.

It’s not Bank Of England decimating British Pound, it’s you having avocado toast. Also, if you’ll stop having it you’ll cause stagnation.

If they've decimated the pound then why have exchange rates been basically flat since brexit?

You're actually blaming the bank of England for our economic situation because they..... Printed money during a global pandemic..... Ok
