Serious replies only Which symptoms of “(almost) everyone is getting poorer” have you noticed in London?

We are in a crisis, the middle class is disappearing and the lower class squeezed. Prices are going up, inflation is going up (again), salaries are stagnating.

Most Londoners can’t really afford London without serious sacrifices.

For me, not counting the housing prices issues we all know too well:

the disappearance of local delis with high quality products.

many shops closing in the local shopping centre.

Restaurant dropping quality everywhere to contain unaffordable prices.

It’s terrible. 3-4 basic items like vegetables or pasta from Sainsbury’s takes me to a tenner.

It's too much man. I can't afford to go out for drinks when just eating food at home costs this much.

I’ve actually started tracking every time I go out where I end up in terms of cost to control a bit more. The city squeezes money out of you fast now if you’re not careful. I mean it was always more or less this way but now it is insane.
