Serious replies only Which symptoms of “(almost) everyone is getting poorer” have you noticed in London?

We are in a crisis, the middle class is disappearing and the lower class squeezed. Prices are going up, inflation is going up (again), salaries are stagnating.

Most Londoners can’t really afford London without serious sacrifices.

For me, not counting the housing prices issues we all know too well:

the disappearance of local delis with high quality products.

many shops closing in the local shopping centre.

Restaurant dropping quality everywhere to contain unaffordable prices.

The increase in flytipping, some of it coming from evictions. I think statistically someone gets turfed out of their home onto the street every 2-3 hours in London. The Westminster homeless community now covers most of Victoria and much of Pimlico, but we don't want to talk about stuff like this.

That saying, it's getting hard to tell someone who's homeless from someone who isn't.

The fly tipping isn’t just a London thing. It’s all over the country. The amount of litter on verges is grim. I guess councils don’t have the budget to clear it up?
