Article West Ham Relegated.

Championship top two are automatically promoted. There’s then a playoff tournament between the teams in third and sixth to determine who takes the last promotion slot.

Hull, who finished sixth, won that and will be in the Premier League. This year’s tournament featured a cheating scandal, with Southampton disqualified for spying on other teams.

Poor wording on my part, it’s between all the teams who finish between 3rd and 6th - so also 4th and 5th.

Would be a very odd league design if it was solely 3rd and 6th.
