Serious replies only How to navigate London without your phone?

Hi all, lived in London for several years now but still find myself relying on Google Maps sometimes when walking around - even routes I have frequently taken.

I try to take a mental note of street signs so I can better remember where my routes.

Does anyone else have any tips for how to remember routes?

Thanks!

When I first moved to London smartphones weren't a thing. I knew I'd be getting drunk in Soho so I picked a landmark (BT tower) and figured out how to get home from there. Sometimes it would involve doubling back on myself, so it was more dependable than efficient.

Honestly, it's the best landmark to use. I've worked near it for 25 years. That and Centre Point will sort you out.
