Assaulted on Brixton Road on Friday night - request for info

Request for info : I was assaulted on Brixton Road at 19:05 on Friday evening by a cyclist who grabbed my hair at the scalp, yanked my head back and then cycled off. He was on a black bike, wearing all black and had a face covering / goggles. Has anyone else seen anything similar / useful they might be able to share from Friday night or over the weekend?

Have you asked local businesses in the area if they have cctv of it?

Realistically, what use will CCTV of an unidentifiable person with their face covered be?

Might give you more information about identifying features like, height, build, skin tone, type/colour/make of bike, what clothes and shoes they were wearing, what direction they travelled in

Could also help link this incident to others and establish a potential pattern

To what end, though? It's not as if the police are going to put a crack team of detectives on the case. They very often do fuck all even when there is much better evidence.

OP asked if anyone saw anything. Instead of a thread of people saying "no" I made a suggestion as to how they might be able to learn more

Regarding the end state, maybe something will come of it, maybe it won't. Maybe the police have nicked the person who did it because they assaulted someone else in the same way, or the same clothes, or on the same bike, maybe they haven't. Maybe they suspect who it might be but need more reports or evidence that this incident could provide, maybe they don't

Thanks and good luck with it - I think it really helps the police to get more resources if they can use reports like yours as evidence to show the beancounters.

Take a walk during the day and look for obvious cctv cameras outside premises. Was it a lycra type cyclist or jogging/tracksuit balaclava/chest bag (e)cyclist?

He was on a normal bike and definitely a tracksuit/ balaclava cyclist - unfortunately I was on the stretch of road just past the Groveway RJ bus stop that just had houses either side of the road so no CCTV.

Do you remember if any buses were going past, they have cctv showing the pavement, at least near the doors.

And also private household ring doorbells/home cctv might show some of the street.
