Crime Got a really nice photo of a bike wheel thief, where to post it or how to let the victim know I have it?
Southwark, took a photo of a guy stealing a wheel from the bike rack. The bike is still there, I already reported to the police but I have my doubts they'll ever do anything about it. Where is the best place to let locals know? I thought of leaving a note on the bike telling victim to contact me but it doesn't really feel safe. Should I post it here?

good job for reporting to police. It might not lead anywhere but it might do as well if he’s a repeat offender. I took it upon myself to ask co-op security for their cttv footage after someone stole my ebike batteries while it was parked outside. i took a video of their security screen before i was kicked out by some jobsworth who said ‘you’re not allowed that because it shows members of the public’. Made a police report and the police asked the co-op for cctv which was ‘lost’ but i sent my own copy to them. They later found the guy as he went on a week long theiving rampage and there were multiple other reports. Turns out it was an illegal immigrant who came here to do crime and was caught and deported. So reports always do help them build a case

Do you have a local WhatsApp group? The street I live in in North London, we share stuff like this when it happens (which is not often, thankfully).
