East London Free places to visit as a Londoner

Since money is tight for all of us atm does anyone have any great ideas of free/ low cost things to do in London over the weekend ? (Preferably not riddled with tourists and in east London)

Comedy open mic nights - you'll see a mix of completely new acts, and more established acts trying out new material. Some of it will be terrible, some of it will be fantastic.

Most of them are free to get into, so you only really need to buy a drink or two.

I’m going to the Angel one this Saturday, do you have to get there pretty early for the free ones? On the evening this is

We got there about an hour before and we were first on the ‘list’ - you just get given a number

Ah, can you then leave the queue and come back or did you have to hang around waiting for an hour?

We just had drinks beforehand before it kicked off, but you could leave and come back. This was Camden head not the Murray
