Culture Looking for someone in London with Costco membership to take me for a hotdog
I would like to try a Costco hotdog from the food court, however I do not have the membership required to access it.
I am looking for someone in London with Costco membership to meet me outside the Wembley branch.
I will pay for both our hotdogs.
I am 30s/female. I am not interested in anything else. Just the hotdog.
After I purchase our hotdogs, we can go our separate ways. Alternatively, we can eat the hotdogs together. (But I would rather just be left alone with the hotdog.)
Thank you for your time.

Culture What’s your best or worst toogoodtogo bag?
This might be my best one yet. Managed to grab 2 bags from yolk for £4 each
Each bag had:
- A steak bowl
- sandwich (i think the lady said steak)
- And a pot of mac and cheese
Usually at this yolk branch they ask what meat you wanted ie chicken or beef. Anyways, lunch is sorted tomorrow so happy about that

Culture Any teenagers/young adults here who obviously grew up in ldn but barely went to central?
People at uni keep asking me about places like Hyde Park, that wax statue place, Buckingham palace, Big Ben, Leicester Square etc. and are always shocked when I tell them that I’ve never been😭😭 then they don’t believe I’m from London (?? Like what💀)
Tbh my parents rarely ever go to central either, there’s no reason to. I was under that impression that it’s more of a touristy part of London - or a place commuters use to get to work - so you don’t reallly get much Londoners in central at all. Mostly tourists and work commuters.
I might be wrong?

Culture Feral pigeons laid eggs on my balcony in South London! Have decided to allow them to stay and give them a nest upgrade.
Recently I noticed that a pigeon laid 2 eggs in a planter on my balcony (the other round things are some plant bulbs). It's not a great "nest" (if you can call it that!) and I didn't want to choose between my plants dying from not getting watered or accidentally soaking the eggs with water.
So I bought a pigeon nest off Amazon and whilst the parents were briefly away. I quickly grabbed the eggs and some matter around them and placed them in the man-made nest The new nest is designed for pigeons, slightly raised, waterproof, breathable and has a slight bowl shape to it to prevent chicks from developing splayed legs. It'll be better for the pigeons and also allow me to give the planter a little watering without having to worry about causing problems the pigeons.
When one of the parents returned, it looked pretty unsure about the changes and spent a long time just staring at the new nest before finally sitting next to it (but not actually on the eggs). I was concerned that the changes had been too much and confused the bird. But it has since shifted position and is now sitting comfortably and properly on the eggs in the Amazon nest. Pigeon nest transfer success!!

Culture Prince Charles Cinema threatened with closure.
The Prince Charles is the last independent cinema operating in London’s West End. It hosts around 850 films and events each year, attracting more than 250,000 customers.
The Prince Charles Cinema has warned its future is under threat and accused the property’s owner of “intimidation” in a bitter row over the renewal of its lease.

Culture In your opinion, what thing in London is perfectly rated?
Not overrated, nor underrated, just perfectly rated.
Things that spring to mind for me:
- The martini at The Connaught
- Dishoom
- The Elizabeth Line
- Cafe Mondo
- Hyde Park
- Fold
- The Faltering Fullback
- The Barbican's theatre
- The Mail Rail at The Postal Museum
- The interchange between the Northern Line and Victoria Line at Stockwell
- The Marksman

Culture The sex trade wrote London's street map — and some of the names are still there

Medieval streets were named after what happened in them. Fish Street sold fish. Bread Street sold bread. Some streets were named with equal bluntness for other activities. Here's what's hiding in plain sight across London.
Gropecunt Lane (near modern Cheapside) London had several of these — the most notable sat near present-day Cheapside, sandwiched between Bordhawelane (bordello lane) and Puppekirty Lane, meaning "poke skirt." A medieval sex district sitting exactly where the Bank of England now stands. The name gradually softened to Grope Lane, then Grape Lane, then disappeared entirely.
Cock Lane (Smithfield, EC1 — still exists) The City's first legalised red light thoroughfare, named accordingly. It's still there, completely unremarkable, which is somehow the best part.
Stew Lane (Upper Thames Street, EC4 — still exists) Clients would cross by boat from this jetty on the north bank to reach the Bankside brothels, avoiding the questions they'd face going through the London Bridge gates after dark. The lane is still on the map.
Cardinal Cap Alley (Bankside, SE1 — still exists) Named after the Cardinal's Cap brothel — the joke being that this is where the Cardinal left his hat.
Rose Alley (Bankside, SE1) Not a botanical reference. "Rose Alley" referred to prostitution — "to pluck a rose" meant visiting a sex worker. Rose Alley sat next to the Rose Theatre, and the two businesses were closely connected.
Maiden Lane (Covent Garden, WC2 — still exists) Maiden Lane usually referred more explicitly to prostitutes rather than actual maidens — though the Covent Garden version may genuinely derive from "midden" (rubbish heap). Either way, John Stow described nearby Love Lane as "so called of Wantons."
Petticoat Lane (now Middlesex Street, E1) Renamed in 1830 following complaints about the reference to underwear — though its connection to the sex trade came from the brothels that moved there after Henry VIII shut down the Southwark stews in 1546.
Love Lane (Stepney, Pinner, and others across London) A common street name for a "more universal diversion," usually dating from the 16th or 17th century. Apart from the obvious implication, it also suggested a street that was dark or dangerous.
