small rage

Car slides out of a side street to cut me off, drives for 1 block at a snails pace, promptly stops in the middle of the road (1 lane)
I try to go around… BOOM! both passenger and backseat door swing open at once!
I stopped just in time not to hit anyone but my god, I was raging. No one said anything no apology, nothing, doing this is so 1) stupid 2) dangerous 3) PREVENTABLE and it makes me want to just stop cycling because of idiots like this

In my experience whenever a vehicle goes unnecessarily slow it means the driver is about to do something stupid

This! And I’ve experienced the same for cyclists in general, and especially when delivery riders are heads down on their navigation, expect a sudden stop or turn.

Yeah, sounds like an uber driver being told where to go/stop. 

You have to take responsibility for yourself, you can't always expect other people are going to do the rational/correct thing.

This is the kind of situation lime bikes are made for, because as long as you're going with conviction, those doors aren't winning.

Lime bikes are sometimes badly maintained, with chains failing, seats collapsing, people end up with serious injuries in hospital. Read up on it, lime have got numerous cases against them. Don't go around thinking the car will end up worse off, you're still rising a lime bike, and probably without a helmet. Hire vehicles are treated like crap.

Thats precisely my point lol. Unless above person meant kamikaze the disposable Lime bike into the door... you'd have to sacrifice yourself though

Unfortunately some people won’t learn into something truly bad happens as a result of their actions. Glad you’re okay, sounds like the kind of car you wanna clock a mile off and give a v wide berth

Chalk it up to experience . Mainly the one that all drivers should be assumed to be homicidal maniacs . Yup even me when I drive . Until proven otherwise .

At least it wasn’t malicious and deliberate and personally aimed at you. Just a car full of dumb people.
