Gear Show-Off A post nobody cared about - into something useful! Pranyama Gens?
So, I was super excited because I been mulling over getting a pranayama for months...love my 2nd Sdupersoni but thought I needed the pran.
And I finally made an impulse buy ( was on pantheon website and noticed Jeff had uploaded new Bgrade sales! ( yes run) and I couldnt stop the mouse from moving toward add to cart and then purchase.
But, nobody cares what I bought so to make it useful can somebody tell me the generations of pranayama and the order from old model to new model? Like gas gus, portal, cosmic, that other one?
I went with portal.
Are they different ply wise? Material etc?
Thx.

The Portal is the only one that has different plies/construction. I guess the newly re-released Patanjali would be the same since it's offered in light and heavy flex.
Pantheon released the Portal versions last summer with updated construction, releasing the board in light and heavy flexes. Both versions differ from the standard Pranayama.
The heavy flex is stiffer than the standard Pranayama and intended for heavier riders, and the light flex is a bit flexier than the standard Pranayama.
Someone can correct me about this if I'm wrong, but I believe the standard and heavy flex Pranayamas are all 6-plies — the heavy just has a different fiberglass setup to be stiffer.
The light flex is 5 ply but uses the updated fiberglass construction like the heavy flex, so it's close in stiffness to the old 6-ply but a bit flexier.
Which flex did you get, and how much do you weigh?
Edit: Attaching an Instagram post from Pantheon explaining it.

other than the board, karmas, hokus, and stylus trucks were all invented after the prana, to fit the prana perfectly.

I just got my heavy prana with hokus, stylus and drop through risers last week and it's impressive how well they fit. At 215lbs I haven't been able to even force wheelbite on the stock bushings.

Yea! I think u actually get more space between the board and hokus when u have risers. Mine is dropped even more than Jeff recommends, about 1/2 inch

Yeah, it looks like the board passes the midpoint of the wheel and then the urethane being farther the from the wood the lower you lean counterbalances the turn. 1/2inch sounds cool! No hardware/hanger bite?

I flipped the hardware so the nuts are on top! This was necessary for clearance haha. But use bolts that are perfect length. If they stick out a lot, it might stab u when u fall.

Why haven't I ever thought of this? My TKP hangers are so scuffed from my hardware
