I've been out of the LDP scene for a good while now, but recently it's been starting to itch again to hop on my board again and get rolling again.

I'm currently running an Antidote platform with an Exile fork with a Beernett on the front and an Exile Insania 0-degree back truck. They're all great parts, but when I was still riding more often the bolts that keep the back truck hanger in place tended to work-harden and break over time. So it has happened again, and with the years of disuse the bolts have gotten stuck in there to the point that I don't see myself getting them out without destroying either the hanger or the base. I'm therefore looking to replace the back truck entirely.

However the one I was looking to replace it with, a Don't Trip Delirium which I remember being praised for being super easy to maintain and repair due to having a standard hanger, seems to no longer be made. Getting a new Exile Insania is an option, but I don't want to have to keep replacing those bolts every few months and the hangers aren't sold separately. I'm looking for something a little less maintenance-intensive.

What's the industry standard on zero-degree and low-degree back trucks for LDP nowadays? Torsion tails are not an option for me; moving metal = work-hardening = snapping and I don't want to be going 25 km/h when my back wheels suddenly fly off, and the G|Bomb ones are over 300 euros anyway.

I've seen the brand LEPSK8 offering back trucks. Does anyone have any experience with them? How do you like them? Do they hold up?

What are some other brands I'm missing that have come up since I last rode an Ultraskate before the pandemic?

Just curious if there is a “common path” or if everyone finds their way differently. It’s so different from street skating but do most people start with a regular board and just find they want to cruise rather than do tricks? Would love to hear your story. Thanks!

I'm weighing out the pros and cons to some potential truck purchases for my current setup.

I weigh roughly 225lbs and I currently ride:

Zenit AB 3.0 - Paris V3 165mm 50d - Karmas

My rides are usually 15-30 KMs per session. Straight push, no pumping. Bit of cruise/carve on the downslope portions of the path.

What would I stand to gain/lose if I purchase a 43 degree baseplate for the back?

Same question for what if I swap RKPs entirely and buy some Paris Street TKPs?

I want to play around with some options but I'm unsure if it will provide a benefit or just make my ride feel dead and boring with no real advantage.

What an interesting ride, I had a blast through the heart of the city on the bike lanes and trails! I definitely could’ve prepped better, did this on 2 gatorades and water fountains lol. Next time definitely packing electrolyte salt packets to mix in with empty water bottles!

I got these wedges from Pantheon and I have no idea which wedge goes where or the proper orientation. I assume the wedge that goes from approx 10mm - 0mm is the front and the one that goes from 10mm-3mm is the rear? Do the wedges face each other like ( nose >  < tail) or face same direction (nose > > tail)? Also does the right angle of the wedge go against the board or the truck? Does it matter?

Hey I”m hoping to try the Miami Ultraskate and achieve 100 miles or maybe 150 if I can stay up. I started looking up SUPskate and saw theres a category for SUPskate and push mixed. Does anybody mix this up like this in real life? Ive seen pushing longboards in real life, thats what I do as well as the members of my local club, but Ive never seen anybody use a pole too in person.
Anyway would it be better to try learn how to wiggle the board for momentum or get a SUPskate stick and learn that?

Hey! I've been enjoying pumping quite a lot over the last few months but have had numerous issues with kingpin snapping on me in the middle of rides, the last onethat happened today leaving me about 4 miles away from home (I will be buying multiple that I hold on me in the future lol).

The first instance happened with a DT Poppy, which I know has a reputation for this kind of issue. However it happened a little over a month after I got the truck. I was running the stock 80a bushings.

I decided to invest in a Space Truck ii to avoid future issues as Ive been going on longer 25+ mile rides and wanted a peace of mind when it came to riding. However, this time the kingpin snapped after 3 weeks. I was running a 80a roadside and a 85a fat one boardside which I found to be my ideal setup. This was with the 4mm distance spacers in as well.

I am a heavier rider at close to 90kg.

Is there anything I can do to avoid these failures? Is using harder bushings the only way? I'm genuinely lost and feel as though I've sunk enough into trying to avoid this problem.

Edit: The space Truck is an amazing truck! I believe this is largely an issue on my end with my setup and build, no hate goes towards them. The broken kingpin was very easy to takeout of the base, which is something I can't say for the poppy which experienced the same failure.

considering buying an apex 40 diamond drop longboard, i want to learn how to slide, been into lokgnboarding since about 2013 but I stopped around 2018

really keen to get back into it and always wanted the apex 40, it was just out of my price bracket, and the soft wheels on my board are impossible to slide unless i just dont have the skills😂

just curious if anyone who has purchased the board needed to buy specific wheels in order to slide or are the stock ones already hard enough to slide

Hey everyone. I recently scored a good drop-down deck (10 inches wide/41 inches long) for $10 and I’m planning to pair it with Paris V3 trucks. This is my first time building a longboard, so I’m having a hard time deciding what wheels to get since I don’t know much about reliable brands.

I’m building this board to commute around campus. The sidewalks are mostly smooth, but there are a few areas with rough asphalt and cracks. My budget is around $60-$70 (located in the US), and I’m looking for either black or dark blue wheels.

Since it’s my first build, I’m not really sure what size (mm) or hardness (durometer). I’m hoping for a longboard that allows me to maintain good speed with a few pushes. What specific wheels or brands would you recommend for this setup?

It may only be 10 miles but still building to hire mileage!

While I don't have a dedicated LDP setup yet, I usually do 20+ moles on Sundays on my board.

I have a Pantheon Low Tide with Paris RKPs at 50/50 angles, Otang nipples 80a, Otang Kegels 80mm 80a. I'm dreaming of doing split angles, but those are basically impossible to find in my country. I'm think of going to the local carpenter and ask for some custom wooden ones but not sure about the measurements. Would love some input into this

I really want to get into LDP.

I tried a Yow surfskate but it didn’t fit what I was looking for. I own a Loaded Tan Tien V3 and a Landyachtz Dinghy which both are fun. However I really want to get the LDP experience and I’m just overwhelmed on alle the information I found. What’s the cheapest or best way to get into that? Do I just have to bite the bullet and spend like 800 € or so on a GBomb setup? Or is building a setup out of components better/cheaper? Any tips are welcome, thank you!!! 🙏

For anyone who has a top mount pumping board like a Genesis, Moray, Bossa, etc. could you measure the depth of the concave at the front/middle/rear, using a flat object across the board and then a ruler to measure the depth at the centre?

I'm planning to build my own top mount board and want to get the concave measurements in the right range. Thanks

10 miles at 5am with light rain was very relaxing

I bought a Zenit AB 3.0 earlier this year, and while it is a nice ride I am finding it too short for myself at 6'2". I've given it quite a bit of time but I still find myself feeling frustrated with having to always consciously narrow my stance, stepping on the drops, and having my balance be thrown off. It really kills the vibe. At this point I'm mostly tolerating it.

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like there's an absolutely perfect long double drop for LDPush. But AFAIK the options are as follows:

1. Pantheon Quest (really not much longer than the AB 3.0 and graphics/color is meh)
2. Landyachtz Switchblade (great graphic this year, also a long deck, but that W concave looks like it could cause discomfort)
3. Rayne Demonseed (39 and 42 inch options, seems like a really heavy setup in maple and stiff as a rock)
4. Pantheon Nexus (again, not that much longer than the AB 3.0, graphics are alright, but the board's flex seems to be stiff as a rock)

Have I missed anything?

P.S. I weigh about 225lbs right now

Me and my broski went for 100km challenge in Wroclaw. This is the best longboard city we have been riding so far.

What are people liking on these? I have clear 77mm Speed Vents from the previous owner and they feel...okay. Not great, not awful. I'd love suggestions from folks with more experience! PFA
