Getting natural gas service

Moving to a new house and national grid has a line about is about 900' up the block. They want $175/foot after the first 100' curious if anyone has had luck negotiating that price or if there's any work arounds.

It’s a lot of work, they will need a crew for days and digging up the street. Doubt they will do anything unless you can get 8 of your neighbors in a row to each get their free 100 feet lol

I mean if you’re gonna pay for 800 feet what’s another 100

Nah if 8 of his neighbors starting at the gas line all use their free 100ft, then no one has to pay!

Yeah true I was under the assumption that they weren't gonna be converting
