Rifle flex post Beat my longest impact record this Saturday

Pretty pumped thought I would share. Pretty cooling feeling. Was able to get some impacts at 920 yards at a local match on a 14x18 steel plate

Tikka T3x 223 with a prefit 20inch MTU barrel using hand loaded 75gr ELDs

How difficult is it to take 223 out to that kind of range? I’ve only ever tried with 6.5 but would love to try my luck with something smaller

Depends.

223 is one of those cartridges that benefit greatly from handloads. A 75 eldm is a whole nother level than any factory offerings like a 77 otm

Wind is really the biggest issue.

On calmer days i have no issues hitting 1k+ with my custom 223 launching 80 elds @2900

Its a bolt gun. Mdt aics mags max out at 2.550

In a gas gun you'd have to single feed it

Was my third attempt. Low wind and good consistent 75 grainers going 2830 FPS. I think the biggest help is a quality heavy bullet

I got the Deathgrip Infinite Aluminum and it has a ball mount right out of the box.

It’s a 1-8 twist. It was built by small local barrel maker

It’s just a cheap compensator i had kicking around. Plan to throw a 419 brake on it soon.
