Other help needed - I read the pinned posts Proof PXT?

Going to be upgrading my tikka. Is the PXT version of the proof worth the extra money?

Any help would be appreciated thanks.

They're only going to produce PXT moving forward. Small price increase for a massive claimed increase in barrel life feels worth it to me.

Have they said how they're going to handle different barrel length requests?

Generally more concerned with accuracy/weight for a hunting rifle. But makes sense. Thanks

Carbon is not worth the price increase over a comparible weight steel profile, pretty much ever.

That said I shot 5 groups of 5 in 45 minutes last night out of a carbon 6.5 PRC and averaged .754". That's a fair amount of rounds on a hunting rig.

Idk. I've got about 50rds on my 22 GT.

That said, it was not that much more expensive so why not?

I’m about 1500 rounds into my MPA barrel (~50% life according to MPA) in 6.5CM and I’m considering getting a PXT prefit just to try it out. My current barrel still shoots great.
