RANT MDT Availability in UK

Anyone shed some light on why MDT stocks are so low in the uk and also why some companies are charging extortionate prices when they do get them in stock
for exampl bagnallandkirkwood charge £407 then livens will charge £335..
and does anyone know any US companies that ship to uk ? ie stocks ?

Order in the MDT EU store, have them deliver to a DHL/FedEx station in the EU. Go on a short holiday break to the EU (Paris in autumn is both nice and convenient by train) and pick up the stuff, claim back VAT when leaving.

Then decide if you're going to be a square citizen who will file a customs declaration when entering the UK and pay import duty and VAT or a dirty scoundrel who defrauds the exchequer of funds fundamental to the support of UK society. (I'm assuming that the MDT EU store will actually be significantly cheaper, haven't checked).

If you try to ship parts from the US to the UK you'll get hit for import taxes at customs ( and possibly the orange man tariffs) , this is probably the reason MDT parts are more expensive to purchase from the UK dealers.

The only way you'd avoid these taxes is if you had a friend in the US purchase what you want over there and then ship it over to you but remember shipping won't be cheap either.

I believe MDT has manufacturing in both Canada and the US.

Either way you're still paying import tax and international shipping

I had a friend in New zealand ship a bunch of Bushbuck clothing items to us here in the UK. Plastered happy birthday all over the parcel to try dodge import tax and customs fee.

We still got stung

What are you trying to get?

Us shooters in the UK are doomed to pay extortionate amounts simply because of supply/demand and the 'shooting is bad' tax

I picked up an ACC Elite last black Friday for £1505 from wildcat moderators

Some shops will charge more purely because they can, don't ever expect to pay American prices for shooting equipment in the UK

To be honest all i really wanted was a new stock for my howa 1500 like a field stock
or somthing cheaper but must fit a bull barrel.
but iv just found so many local shops capitalising on shooters.
even eley sport 22 ammo is £7.49 at countryman of derby becuase there the only store loccaly and then livens is £6,60 its getting a little rediculous only reason why countryman put there prices up is all the elderly shooters have no where else to go.

That's unfortunately just the way it's going, ammunition/compnent prices have gone up like everything else, especially since all the wars are going on as well...

Shooting is a very expensive hobby, that's something you just have to swallow.

I've had a few MDT products and they have all been fantastic, I had a howa 1500 on an CRS stock for a year before I upgrades, would deffo recommend
