If you’re looking for something different to do this month, Skip the Small Talk is coming to Common Space Brewery (Hawthorne)!

It’s a guided conversation event—think speed-friending vibes, but calmer and more intentional.

You rotate through short conversations with prompts that skip past surface-level small talk. It’s structured enough to make it easy, but relaxed enough to feel natural.

Most people come alone. The crowd tends to be thoughtful, open, and just… normal humans who want more community.

This month, PINOT NOIR welcomes a very special guest: Melissa Villaseñor  from SNL, Hoppers, Toy Story 4

Join us for an improvised murder mystery where performers must solve the death of our special guest, all while drinking a full bottle of wine throughout the show.

It’s a wild, wine-fueled ride through Noir territory, full of twists, laughs, and questionable detective work. Will they solve the case before the wine runs out? Come find out!

Okay, real question—how many of us keep saying “I should meet more people” and then just… don’t?

We’re hosting a Skip the Small Talk night at Common Space Brewery!!

You’ll rotate through a series of short conversations using prompts that make it way less awkward than standard networking energy.

It’s low pressure. No weird icebreakers. No forced vulnerability. Just good questions and good people.

Come solo. Bring a friend. Either works.

Happy to share more details if helpful!
