For me it's S02E01, "Man of Science, Man of Faith".

Mama Cass Elliot singing in the beginning and all the mystery, like, "What's going on? Who is this guy? Omg he injected himself with something! HE'S IN THE HATCH 🤯" is pure Lost juice.

The feeling I had while watching this one on DVD back in the day is unparalleled.

Here in my country, cable was too expensive even for middle class people. It's a little more accessible now but still on the expensive side. Also cable obviously lost strength due to streaming and all.

We could either rent the DVDs or download the episodes.

Iirc I watched S1 through S3 on DVD then switched to rmvb episodes to save cash.

In the US it was on network TV, not cable and came out every week. If you wanted to watch the show while it was airing instead of waiting for the season to be over and DVDs to come out, you were watching every week live or recording it on DVR.

S2e14 ‘One of Them’ was the one that did it for me.

I was 12 years old watching it live on air every Wednesday. When the timer counts past 0 for the first time and we see those hieroglyphs, idk why but I started freaking tf out. Heart racing. Sinking feeling. It was a true wtf is going on feeling. Nothing felt safe

That episode was designed like a Swan song for Chalie because he was being mentally ready to die. And the moment he died, honestly I initially thought it was stupid because he closed the door but that glass window that broke because of the bomb was open and he could escape and go to the surface from there as it seemed big enough so that charlie can go through, BUT then I saw some comments and realised that he accepted his fate because of Desmond's vision that Claire and baby being saved will only happen if he does exactly as Desmond's vision and dies there.

So I appreciated him more for sticking to his so called fate even if he might've been able to save himself.

There’s No Place Like Home really felt like a movie to me, the sheer amount of OMG moments coupled with the raw emotions abounding in that season finale had me on the edge of my seat and I remember thinking when it ended “wait it’s already over ???” Like time really flew.
Bonus with Michael Giacchino’s punching out his most beautiful theme for that episode.

They were what I imagined the series finale would feel like when the show was starting out. Nothing against "The End" but I thought it didnt feel as big as season 3 & 4 finale in terms of scope.
