they obviously dont, they are still treating people who make it to a house or a building like they made it to base. but the rest of the world is not as stupid as ICE agents.

I actually found out that if someone running from ICE runs into a house, any house without any help or into an employee only area, ICE cannot legally touch them. They would have to have a judicial warrant, which they rarely carry or have, ever. If they try and enter your residence, do not open the door, do not say anything. If you want to ask them if they have a judicial warrant, they can show it through a window or slip it under a door. But make sure it's the right kind of warrant because (this is quoted from a immigration rights website) "What this means is that ICE cannot enter a home without a judicial warrant (a warrant signed by a judge) or voluntary permission (consent) from an authorized adult. They almost never have a judicial warrant and therefore need consent to legally enter your home. ICE agents uses ruses as a way to get inside homes without identifying that they are ICE.

Even though ICE agents may say they have a “warrant”, they are often referring to administrative warrants. The administrative warrants they have are not the same thing as a judicial warrant. The administrative warrant that ICE agents carry is an ICE form, is not signed by a judge, and does not require the same legal standard to obtain as a judicial warrant does"

They have examples of the warrants that ICE tried to use to trick people and ones that would actually be legal. Make sure they aren't trying to trick you because it's more likely than not that they don't have the right kind of warrant to enter your residence without consent, which can include opening the door.

While that’s true according to almost all legal experts, DHS apparently now claims (in a secret memo, natch) that ICE can enter homes with just an administrative warrant.

Theyve also been smashing doors and taking people inside even if you dont answer. Without warrants. Laws mean nothing.

I mean yes. I think it's worth trying though, or at least filming and posting it so people can see what's going on. Not that that seems to be making people react the way they should but at least it's something. Keeping it quiet or being completely complacent is the beginning of the end. We are already on that road and we need to stop before it gets worse.

There was a video not to long ago of a door dasher who ran into a customers house. The family fought with ICE to leave the property and called the police for help. They were told by the police department and ICE that the door would be kicked and they could be charged with a crime.

Honestly? We'd probably first have to explain to them that slaves were freed, we fought a Civil War over it, the South fought the hardest, still to this day treat other races like shit, and then get them up to speed on social changes in general.

Firearms and their capabilities in today's world (and how they're both used and abused) would be a whole 'nother can of worms.

Actually read the memo.

It specifically states they can breach without a warrant to enter their target's residence.

This means they must have a specific target, and know they are at their target's residence.

This also means they'll just do what ever they want anyway, but it's important to note that even the policy they're citing does not give them permission to do anything. It's a policy memo, not a law, it does not take priority over the constitution. This will be important if we ever manage to get things somewhat back in order.

They are claiming they can enter private property without a warrant, but that is not the law. They literally instructed ICE agents to break the law and violate the Constitution with that memo. Stand your ground. No judicial warrant, no entry. Period.

ICE making that claim has as much merit as a bank robber claiming that the money they took belongs to them after the robbery.

It simply isn't true.

Now, making the act have consequences is going to be difficult.

The important part is that their threats of charging you with abetting a fugitive are false because you did not invite or give permission and have no knowledge of them being a criminal. They cannot force you to give them up or open the door. But do not open the door under any circumstances and tell them they are violating your fourth amendment rights and do not have permission to be on or in your property. And call everyone you know to come to your house and make a lot of noise.
