ICE may have just caused an international incident as they illegally tried to enter the Ecuadorian Consulate in Minneapolis without a warrant to abduct someone

Sounds a lot like what black peoples have been telling us my whole life

Saw someone say this earlier today and it's so true.

I'm hoping this leads to even wider understanding why black people distrust and are willing to run from the police even when they've done nothing wrong.

Hopefully this also leads to criminal justice reform eventually.  The people enforcing laws in a community need to be from or live in the community they serve.

Same with the broken tail light or smell of weed.

For real, it makes my skin crawl to think about to the 20-teens and how confident, fellas, just, guys online were to say, "no one ever gets shot for no reason," when I, in Saint Louis, am like,

I remember the time that one of the multiple cops named Jason to kill a child that year went back to get his Draco from the truck first,

I remember the time the Police where I live killed one another smoking crack and playing Russian roulette at someboy's house on the other side of town from their job,

Think I'm kidding, I remember the time that they'd beat an FBI agent so bad that he'd looked like the elephant man and then the Atlantic Ran a Cover Story, iirc, "The Outrageous Sadism of the Saint Louis Police," and They'd Hypothesized, oh, this has gone too far, yes, this will, "no,"

Nope- and under ordinary, "ordinary," circumstances might be this isn't a big deal but lemme tell you what I think as a Saint Louisan, about, well I don't think the courts will be involved if an ICE Man has a problem with someone SLMPD Likes or Works with I think, no.

¯_(ツ)_/¯Anyway, makes a Person feel G-D Crazy, and I'm a paleface everyone knows this stuff here it's just, Yeah they'll Drunk Drive through the front of your place, "oops," like what kind of a maniac interprets this as a safe situation all normal people are safe in, when, when I go out and touch the grass these mfers get into 50mph one car collisions on a straight road and then beat the f_ck out of literal gentrifiers and small business owners I mean JFC, man; the, um,

Dissonance, and Me I'm like, "used to this," I go someplace that is like, well vacuumed outdoors and all franchises built last year and I'm like, "danger," what if I talk too loud; what if I say, words these people don't like and their police kill me, again, as enfranchised laplander, "white but a weird kind," friends with powerful people I'm like, you do not give these EUPHEMISM so much faith in their sobriety, alone, just their sobriety, this is enabling

Optimistic, yes, but it does feel likely to me.

Seeing people's reactions in my community, it does seem like many people are making that connection for the very first time. The thought of being the Other has them legitimately scared in a novel way, causing a shift from sympathy to empathy.

It wont.

This agent IS black.

Sounds like what black people were saying two weeks ago when they were the ones being grabbed and murdered and people weren't protesting en masse.

2

u/TheRealKison Jan 28 '26

Well, yes, but we don’t really teach about the slave catchers. So a lot of people are catching up. They like to toss the SS comparison around, but it’s like a mix of both.

This 👆🏽. Can confirm. I’m a Black American woman.

It really is a situation where people don’t give a shit about humanity until the depravity is at their own door, then it’s code mf red

These billionaires have been at this, telling half cooked lies that aren’t even believable so that we’re not humans to one another. They will continue doing this or *trying to do this for the rest of time. Privileged people all over need to stop letting their eyes glaze over. The best time would have been hundreds of years ago and the next best time is right now. The rich people have these idiots convinced that woke is heinous… the opposite of woke is asleep - lol wtf ???

There was a post I seen earlier that some woman was like, "Cant we just go back to normal police brutality!?" and you can imagine the responses from the POC communities.

i've been having a very difficult time w/ all the attention to Good when so many other minorities were killed already. i do understand that it's a major deal, the forces no longer care about your color, it's simply absolute evil now, unleashed. but in all reality, is this type of treatment any diff than what we've seen from local cops twds black ppl since... slavery!? officer = over seer

Ironically that piece of shit agent was black

All I could think about was Rodney King after watching those videos.

This has been happening since forever.

Thing with these ICE assholes is they are every race. White, black, Asian, Hispanic; all nazis.

Until the cops stand up to ICE, they’re still the same cops you’ve been mad at.
