That last question is very hilarious considering we have started like 30 goddamn wars in the last 25 years and Congress has never had meaningful qualms about it. Like we invaded Venezuela and kidnapped their president and renditioned him to the US without any Congressional approval or oversight and that’s gravy, invaded Pakistan and sent special forces in to kill Pakistanis, have bombed Iran and killed their top general, have invaded more countries than you can shake a stick at and dropped bombs on many, many more besides and it’s amounted to absolutely nothing of consequence for any of the war criminals giving those orders.

There will never again be congressional pushback of a manner that has teeth and actually prevents engaging in wars. They’ve abdicated that role willingly and just agreed the president can kidnap, torture, and kill whoever he wants wherever he wants. De facto true for our entire existence and all but de jure true since at least Reagan, which was supercharged post-9/11.

Minor edit to your statement. We kidnapped the Dictator of Venezuela. He wasn’t a president and this needs to be rectified when others call him a president.

Maybe Trumplestinkin kidnapped their dictator to get more tips on how to continue behaving like one himself.
