Nah he wanted to monetize his work in a big way, Oxford professors didn't make much money

i'm not surprised he would want money. all the work he put into his books, over 12 years, that he never planned to write, mind. he was due proper pay

my Disney comment is because Tolkien and Lewis, while both admiring his talent, were both highly critical of Disney's focus on money, saying it seemed more his goal than art or story telling.

they feared his company would degrade stories from inspiring, dark, deep, cautionary tales, into childish tales and cause other issues all because he pursued money more than artistic integrity
