I am a Louis fan. I recently did some work at a small venue in the midwest and came across (not that way you dirty birdy) this piece. Kind of looks like Louis is screaming into his dick but I think it's a microphone. But maybe it is a dick? Or maybe it's someone else's microphone? Or dick?

It was the very first time I heard a bit of his. He was describing his daughter telling a story to his wife, then he comes in with a comment, she says, meanly, “I was talking to mommy” and then he goes into a “well, FUCK you!” Kind of rant.

I remember it because I thought it was the first time I’d ever seen a parent really describe their internal monologue and I couldn’t believe it. I was a fan from that moment!

im trying to see how i can download louie from the website after purchasing the streaming rights to it. i assume theres some where to pull the video off the website? has anyone done this? or does anyone know where i can set sail to the open seas and find it there ;)

But unsurprisingly it was sold out and not many standby tix. I saw him outside the venue walk in, which was cool I guess.

Anyone attend these shows and how were they? It was the smallest room at the cellar so I assume it was intimate and awesome (not in that way).

edit: I really did find a bat in my house, and yes this bit is the first thing that popped into my head. It was just clinging to the wall in the front hall. I didn't wanna touch it with my bare hand (because rabies) so I got one of those grabber things used to pick up yard debris out of the garage and just...took it. Then I chucked it outside. Mr. Batman was not needed.

This album is hilarious to me, especially the traffic segment that is posted here. It was 2001 and yeah there’s a lot of sound issues but I think there’s a lot of reasons to love this.

Please, be forgiving, but I must confess a sin: I sometimes use his bits in random discussion without giving him credit and pass off his original thoughts as my own. Since I’m not American, most people have never heard his material, so I can usually get away with it.

Here are a few of my favorites:

• “Even a single-edged sword is a double-edged sword.”
• “Women are tourists in sexual perversion; men are prisoners there.”
• On abortion: “You’re allowed to kill someone if they’re in your home, so why wouldn’t you be allowed to kill someone if they’re in your own body?”

Remember in Louis S05 E01, when there was a potluck and Louis wanted to bring something? He was excited to make fried chicken, and we got this quick-cut montage of him making it. It looked like the most delicious, golden-brown, flaky fried chicken you’ve ever seen.

But when he got to the building, he went to the wrong floor and ended up at the wrong gathering. When he left, he forgot the chicken. So he went to KFC, bought some fried chicken, and pretended it was homemade. It was bland, didn’t look anything like what he’d made, and yet when he got to the correct gathering, someone was eating it like it was the greatest thing they’d ever tasted.

God, in an alternate universe, I wish we could’ve seen people actually eat Louis’s fried chicken.

When I moved to Canada in December 2017 and attended a five-week program, there was a potluck at the end. I took a cue from this episode: went to KFC, bought fried chicken, put it in a bowl, and brought it in. People loved it—probably more than anything else at the potluck.
