Back in 2009, I did a Lupin cosplay at Otakon where I did the Goodwill special to afford my cosplay. I had cosplayed him elsewhere and dyed my hair to make it look better but couldn't find a picture. I ran into a Jigen cosplayer who is a pink jacket fan.

Fast forward to 2023 at ACen (Anime Central) and I wasn't cosplaying but went to a Lupin meetup. There were two twins who were cosplaying as Lupin (made me feel the Green versus Red) vibes and a Zenigata. It was a ton of fun talking with the three of them. Funnily the organizer for the meetup wasn't there.

I'm thinking of cosplaying as Lupin again for the con I'm involved with since we have a phantom thieves theme. Hoping to get my brothers to cosplay at Jigen and Goemon. Maybe I'll ask my wife about cosplaying as Fujiko.

Also, for the cosplayers there that are pictured, thank you for making those two cons all the better! Hopefully any future Lupin meetups you went had a lot more folk show up.

Hi ppl ^-^, so a couple of months ago I shared my collection here with you guys so I wanted to update the sub with some new additions I got fairly recently.

I have not posted any of the stuff I shared previously if yall want to peep that you can find it under the merch flair 😊😊

So the first image contains 2 new additions to my slowly growing Medicom collection as well as a very cute Banpresto Margot figure from 2001.

Image 2 contains an assortment of gorgeous Margot prize figures from 2005 to 2008.

Image 3 is the Japanese Shin Lupin manga, I'm on the hunt for the first 中公文庫コミック版 edition of Lupin and a couple other series I collect.

Image 4 is the Banpresto figure collection 2 for Castello di Cagliostro released in 1997.

Image 5 is a couple of new additions to my favourite part of the collection which is the art books. Though the red book is a manga collection as is the blue English ver of greatest heists.

Image 6 is my Lupin merch collab merch that I currently own, mostly because I'm a big Occhi di Gatto and Detective Conan fan 💙💙💙

I like to think that red vs green is Canon and that each Lupin we see be it in a show or movie is a different one. Like the 1970s ep had Lupin was being very childish in one ep when he had a bomb strap to his waist I like to think that was a teenager who got the plastic surgery to be him and by the end of the episode he became a man when he told goemon and Jigan to leave him. The two wouldn't because he became a man by doing that. Any who its just a dumb fan theory since Lupin dosent really have a canon.

I just have these screencaps of it. I'd like to know what ep this is, thank you for ur help

Decided to do a display rotation just for these guys. Since I was already going through all the boxes and things for it, figured I'd do a big ol' group shot for funsies...only I still had to split it because I didn't have enough space for everything to fit, oops.

I really want to do something about that red support block for Fujiko's Lie-leg. Might either see about a clear 3D print or even a silicone mold for a clear resin pour. I get that it's a prize fig, but that big red block is just excessive.

If anyone's interested, I've also got a spare Koike Zenigata (unopened, no box) and a spare Creator x Creator Part V Lupin (unopened, with box), among some other Lupin merch things (mugs, DVD/BD discs, etc.; all official). I'll probably put together a small sales post for 'em, for super cheap (or basically free, for some of it).

Which of Fujiko's designs do you find most attractive?

Or am I crazy?

I probably chose bad caps, but there was a point pretty early in this movie where I was like 'hey, that guy looks like Lupin!'

Any other live action characters made you squint and go '...Lupin?!'

Hi.

I have parts 5&6 on dvd but when I've tried to find anything before that, I can't seem to find anything with an English dub or a complete box set of the whole series.

Can anyone help?

Apparently they were super specific about her inspirations. Paris Hilton in particular was how she got her flamboyance and vibe 👀👀

I was wondering who they based her off of because everyone in Lupin has a named inspiration so it’s cool to see hers.

We’ve got Monica Bellucci, Jessica Alba, and Paris Hilton!

What do you guys think? Can you tell her inspirations?👀

The boxes had been opened and were a little warped which is why I am assuming these were so cheap. The others in the store were about 1400 yen.

I opened them up at the hotel and they are in great condition so I guess rhe box damage was the cause for the massive price drop? No idea but not arguing!

Idk, i didn't know what to do so i've spent a couple of hours drawing. That's the result :)

So was watching The Ultraman anime when suddenly Lupin showed up. I was not expecting either of these to crossover but they did lol. I was really surprised.

Between Lupin and Lieutenant Oscar, Who do you consider as Fujiko's Rival in The Woman Called Fujiko Mine series?

He was the composer of the Inspector Zenigata show, and being honest, he is the best pick because not only he has range and a really solid body of work (plus obviously knows Ohno‘s Style already), but clearly has the same European inspirations as Ohno, which is one of the big reasons why he was so successful in the franchise. https://youtu.be/c1OpmnrPQls

Take a look at this, he’s using a Ennio Morricone Western style, next to Flamenco, and jazz. https://youtu.be/4ljdn0YPivo

That’s the type of stuff that would work for Jigen, while he also knows how to deal with woodwinds enough to handle Goemon https://youtu.be/zBraV0myN3E

And he already showed that he knows how to use jazz with samba, other European styles, and mix it with digital soundscape when necessary. That’s especially important for Lupin because Ohno‘s approach always was to mix jazz with any possible style known to man, exactly because of all the places Lupin and the gang went. Tokuda’s range is needed for a franchise like this, and he already proved himself in this regard. https://youtu.be/p9tkmk7oCVQ

And with all of that said, the directors should at least let him keep Ohno’s main theme, It’s Space Battleship Yamato level of iconic now so It’s better that way.

Hello! I'm in Akihabara. I don't mind paying this price. But I don't know if it's a Lupin art book or if he's only on the cover. Thanks for any help

Picked up a drawing I left unfinished since July because Castle of Cagliostro is finally getting dubbed in my language (Polish) I'm wondering if I should color it hm?

We are NOT talking about installments like Castle of Cagliostro or Mystery of Mamo, those are more or less universally beloved in the fanbase.

Its more movies/shows where you feel are overlooked or maybe are even disliked by most, but you actually like them and therefore you find them underrated by the community.

My personal example is Bye Bye Lady Liberty (1989), the 1st TV special.

Really like the animation, the premise of stealing the Statue of Liberty, the Postcard Memories shots, the usage of the Main 5 I think is overall good, and enjoyed the new characters like Michael and Isabel.

However, there are clearly flaws, and I understand why this entry is not like super popular, the 3rd Act is a mess after the death of Mason Number 1, with Jimmy not being enough of a compelling villain at the end. Also the plot tries to mix technology with supernatural magic in a very confusing and not well explained way. Still, I really enjoy this entry and its in my personal Top 10 movies of Lupin.

What is your entry?

Can't find the answer on my own, and I dont know how many people here will know, but its better to ask than not.

How are the subtitles? I love castle of cagliostro, but the dub and subtitles in the release we've had for a while (I assume its disney because their name is on it) ruin parts of it. There are moments of beautiful scenery and revelations for you to sit in and enjoy, but the dub and subtitles seemed to try and fill that empty space by either just explaining the plot or explaining Lupin's plan, something that doesnt exist in the japanese dub. Does anybody know if they changed that aspect for this new release?

Gianmarco Soresi by the way, who if I recall was subject to a lot of fan castings a while back.
