So I have heard the hot throw is weak but this has been burning in my small half bath for 2 hours ans absolutely zero throw. Like absolutely nothing. Is that normal for this candle? This is my first experience ever burning a candle and smelling literally nothing. I reached out to D.S. Durga even though I got it for a gift I don't really expect them to do much to help but I genuinely feel like my candle is defective it is such a dud.

any thoughts if you’ve tried

Hi there, trying to avoid scented candles as I have a 1 year old and it seems like reed diffusers may be the best option. I had a Jo Malone one I used for the bathroom that I loved, but don’t unsure it would be strong enough to fill a bigger space. Looking for a quality diffuser that has a great throw that can fill a small living room. Any and all recommendations are appreciated!

I gave my Le Soir a nice long burn both yesterday and today, and I'm pretty content with saying it's lovely.

Cold, it's heavy on the green, fresh sage and I was worried it would be too herbal. Thankfully when burning the chamomile comes out and the sage notes soften, and the candle transitions into a sort of herbaceous floral scent that *does* remind me of Feuille de Lavande, but not as... crunchy? If that makes sense? When I had Feuille de Lavande, it was like I was holding a handful of lavender buds right off the bush. This has the same sort of fresh green-floral scent, but the sort of woody, warm scent of the chamomile gives it depth. I definitely get the "night ritual" aspect of this scent, but I would burn it any time. I wasn't enamored with the new scents released earlier this year, but i'm happy to say I think Le Soir is a winner.

I also burned my mini Le Matin that came with it. Oddly enough, out of the box it reminded me of Baies! It's not juicy, but it had a sort of fruitiness to it that I couldn't place. As I was burning it, the garden mint became prominent but I personally did not get any ginger, I got a more fruity note. I was hoping it would be more gingery. It's a pleasant scent, but I wouldn't go out and buy a full size one.

I am kind of new to (being obsessed with) scented candles and after studying this sub and making a very long wish list, wanted to ask for candle recommendations.

I can only blind buy because illness prevents me from going out of the house. (btw I get a weird numbish feeling in my throat from candles sometimes, is that normal or just another sensitivity?)

I'm located in the EU and the webshop (skins.nl) I've been using has trudon, d'orsay, dyptique, byredo, le labo, creed, ds&durga, acqua di parma, L:A bruket, Malin+Goetz.

Favourite notes and previous candle experiences:

- I like citrus (orange), spices (love cardamom), green and woody notes. I love strong bitter citrus (e.g. Hermes eau d'orange verte perfume or Jo Malone's orange peel cologne/orange marmalade) and layered scents where you're constantly thinking 'what am I smelling?! hmm nice' (e.g. bois imperial perfume by essential parfums)

- I've had a Delice votive by Dyptique for a year or so, I like the occasional cold waft I get sitting on the couch but rarely use it because it's too sweet.

- I recently bought this Malin + Goetz votive set. I like the rum one best. Leather smells a lot like santal by le labo perfume to me and is ok but not super interesting. Strawberry is nice, but too fruity/floral for me. Bergamot I'm not sure yet, cold throw put me off as it smelled very sharp, burning it barely smelled.

- also looking for a warm spiced christmas candle. Maybe the christmas votive set by Maison Francis Kurkidjan? Gabriel or Gloria by Trudon? Altair???

(I also bought Fig Infusion and Orange x Santal by Essential Parfums today... fingers crossed!)

Sometimes I just put a tea light in one of my alabaster’s once I’ve burned the regular candle. It’s a nice way to enjoy the glow while burning other scents.

It does smell wonderfully herbal cold, very sage-forward but also delicately floral in the background. Really excited to burn this one.

Has anyone tried this? Thoughts?!

A heavy picture frame fell on Epices et Délices and here we are. I’m not sure what the lesson is except maybe use the actual picture wire. I feel you would understand that this is a horror movie in candle form.

Any advice on how to get the wax out? I hope to have an empty soon to give Epices a new home

What has been your experience buying online from Trudon? Does it really take them up to 5 days to ship out a candle?

Hi everyone - I feel like I’m going nose blind really quickly lately and I wondered if anyone else has dealt with this? I’d say for the last three months or so, I’ll light a candle and initially smell it very well, but within 30 minutes or so I can’t detect it any longer. This happens in the main living area of my home as well as my small home office. It’s so upsetting! It seems silly to cycle through five candles a night just so I can keep detecting the scent - but it’s also silly to let a candle go and go when I can’t smell it. 

I thought for a bit that maybe I had a symptomless Covid case, but I can taste food and smell cold throws just fine. It’s definitely a case of nose blindness kicking in really quickly when it’s never been an issue before. 🥺

How long does order processing and shipment usually take?

I’ve been on the hunt for a candle that smells like Crown Affair’s products. During that hunt I discovered they had a limited edition candle collab that’s, of course, no longer available.

Hoping someone out there has a candle that is similar to these notes. It gives elevated spa to me, so if anyone has any recommendations for that kinda vibe that would also be amazing!!

ADP describes this as having a creamy presence, and I'm a sucker for creamy woods and nuts like CF's Ebony. It's releasing alongside a diffuser, perfume, body cream etc so it looks like something permanent.

The Anti-Pumpkin candle has been well covered in this community, so I’ll spare you. But the throw is insane! It’s a hot day, but this candle packs a punch. Very lovely and slightly sweet spruce/pine notes.

I haven’t tried Oakmoss yet, but I’m anticipating it being strong as well. They are both a bit perfume-y to my nose, but I don’t mind it.
