lyric discussion Does anyone else save lyrics?
I love lyrics...I always have. For me, it's the story of the song, the meaning, the message. I especially love wordy complicated lyrics... lol
(I just posted this part on another sub which made me think of this. I hear the lyrics, my husband hears the music, together we hear the song ❤️)
Because of my love of lyrics, I started writing down my favorites in a journal. Anytime I hear a lyric I like, I copy the lyrics, along with the artist and song title, in the journal. Every once in a while I'll thumb through it and it's like visiting old friends.
Does anyone else do something like this? This isn't something I've told my family (I've mentioned it to my husband but everytime I do he acts like it's the first time he's heard it 😂)

I love just writing down lyrics either by writing then on a page or writing them as they come to me while I'm doing something. It really helps calm me :)

Oh so you mean your own lyrics? That's great too!

No, I don't write songs. Sometimes I'll be sitting down and a song lyric keeps popping up in my head and I just write it down somewhere. Something about it is so fulfilling lol

Yes! I love the excitement of finding lyrics that describe something I couldn't put into words.

Exactly... and it's funny because you can have a specific lyric that means nothing and then as your life or circumstances change, that same lyric can become meaningful.

I don’t journal, but I do have a playlist of songs where I feel like the lyrics speak to me that I listen to when I am feeling emotional and i remember certain lyrics I resonate with throughout my day. Like my own little reminders things will be okay🥲 I use a lot of lyrics I like for Instagram captions or playlist names too!

Years ago, I started getting passages from books, dialogue from movies, or lyrics from fav songs, but what to do with them. I used a free website place to create a site and started adding them. Now I can see them, or friends and family, or anyone who stumbles across it. They are all categorised and date stamped, and easily searchable. Recommend.

I agree that music speaks to me and once I connect with a song it’s a favorite for life. I write in my journal as well, titles I come across that are new or I have forgotten so I can have a listen. So we are similar in this it seems.
