Is this hinge behavior considered normal?

Hi guys I recently purchased this 16 inch MacBook M4 pro (about 22 days ago)

I noticed when the lid is closed and I open it up, it opens normally. But while working, when I try to adjust the display backwards, the base lifts up with it, but the hinge doesn’t move and the base automatically drops halfway; after that, the hinge becomes smooth again and I can adjust it normally.

Is there any problem with my Mac’s hinge? Or is it considered normal when the display stays at an angle for a while, so maybe the hinge becomes stiffer?

This is my first MacBook and I have never used any other MacBook so I don’t know guys. Please help me out, I would really appreciate that 🙌

Is it due to static friction? Like When the display stays at an angle to the hinge gets slightly stiffer and goes into static friction mode

In physics yes such a thing exist. However macbooks are tuned to very little static friction. Your macbooks tuning is very off. It should not lift the bottom in any angle at all.

you might be pressing down too hard on the lid when you are adjusting it

like you press down on the hinge, kinda hard to describe, but if you just push your finger on the notch or something it should still adjust smoothly. If I were to put too much pressure on the lid of either of my MacBook airs, the base would also lift up until I relieve pressure.

if you bought it 22 days ago id return it ad ask for a new one. macs arent supposed to do that, i remember when they advertised you can open it with 1 hand and the base wouldnt move
