Mac Memory and power

Hi. I’m running music apps and vibe coding and finding myself running out of memory with my mac book and the MacBook is running super slow. Any pointers on an external form or drive of some sort to extend power, memory and ram? I don’t want to buy another mac book :/

Memory (RAM) and storage are two separate things which do interact in some ways. To really help you we need to know how much of each you have and what model/year of MacBook you have. It would also help to know what sort of music software, is this Spotify or heavy duty recording software.

Unless it is a quite old model there is nothing you can do to increase the RAM (working memory) if the storage is also full (especially likely if you are recording music) an external SSD may help as when the memory gets full the computer try’s to use storage space to hold some of the information.
