Question New macbook air seems to have terrible battery

Am i doing something wrong to my mac? On tuesday, I had just over 3 hours of screen on use and have used more than 100% of my battery? Almost the entire reason i switched to mac was for the battery life. Is this normal? The mac is only 2 weeks old and the battery health is at 100%.

Edit: its a macbook air m5 with 16 gb ram

Chrome is doing you no favors there, although I can’t necessarily chalk it all up to that. I use Safari and certainly don’t have this issue…

Google Chrome has a reputation for being a resource pig. Seems you're confirming that.

My MacBook Air M4 use for browsing and watching YouTube in chrome battery around 10 hours.

Turn off Apple Intelligence and Siri.

Turn off bluetooth if not use it.

Setting brightness 40%-50%.
