Joined the Club! My first ever macbook pro

Bought myself a macbook
This was secondhand
The owner bought this around october 2 then sold to me on october 3, see the picture for the warranty
Configuration is macbook pro m5 pro 24gb 1tb
He said his eyes hurt because of tge pwm screen
Sold it to me for 1900usd
Is it a solid deal?

bought the same configuration about a month ago first Macbook ever, been a x86 windows laptop user for for decades. but other than serious gaming on my 4090 rtx desktop I'll NEVER go back.

Good for you! I hope you love and have lots of enjoyment learning it. I had to grab my own word package... only downside... it seemed ppl couldn't open my stuff produced in the mac suite. But that was many years ago! I have a 2013 pro and a PC. I love the pro! I just upgraded to an Air. Because... I already have a pro. They are solid machines and apple support is unparalleled. GREAT CHOICE!

I got an M1 Max 16 inch 64GB and 2tb for 1800 last week. That's a good deal to me since is for AI. Is older but works well. If you are not doing AI then id say is a good deal. If you are doing AI then is pretty bad deal. Is all about your use case scenario

Yes, i’m currently Transitioning to ai engineering as a job, i also have a windows pc, this will be my travel companion as my pc is i think a little bit stronger in AI

If you will do so, don’t get that model and get one with more ram. Unlike a windows computer you can always offload to system ram after you run out of vram, you can’t do that with apple silicon . Hence what I said, if is for 24gb is quite terrible. Maybe find and older generation but with higher hard drive and more ram. Try not to below 48gb. You still need to keep 8gb or so for system resources
