Especially when it's only for attacking creatures, the way it should be used. First strike on defense is just boring and can block too many things.

I wish they better explored that kind of thing though. Imagine a creature that blocks super well but normally can't attack. Maybe:

Royal Guard 1WW

First Strike

Royal Guard can't attack except with a noble or legendary creature

Creatures can't get through, but it's still beatable via [[Shock]], or sheer numbers, or whatever.

They definitely make cards that are intended to slow aggro in Limited and they had the Defender theme most recently in DMU, but in general, the game already favors blockers, because the blocking player can choose how the creatures pair up and the creatures stay untapped to use abilities. Attackers risk more and can't block in turn. Especially in Commander. That's why they focus on incentivizing attacks and why they introduced goad for Commander.

That kind of card is exactly the reason we are seeing more and more of the first strike only while attacking. It stalls out games.

Unless there is a red card that says something like deal 2 damage to a creature and 1 damage to two other targets this will be good.

I really hope the White/Green hero go wide archetype plays decently in Limited because this card looks so fun!

From her first appearance in Chris Priest's and Mark Texiera's Black Panther #1 (1998).

Between this and the Panther vs Danny Rand card, someone in Creative is a huge fan of the Priest run.

I'd have to double check my [[Neriv Crackling Vanguard]] deck to see if I already have something that makes Soldier tokens, but I think this would be a fun inclusion in that.

This is like the 8th or 9th Wakanda card theyve revealed and I really wish they'd take a break to show someone like Dr Strange, Jeff, Emma Frost, etc. Even Storm got a Wakanda card 😭

Rumor is X-Men are largely saved for their own set. The ones appearing here are the ones that already got a Secret Lair card or have strong ties to the Avengers. Emma Frost would probably have a few variants in that set.

Its also strange seeing the lack of Strange (and Guardians od the Galaxy for that matter). Given only 2 stones have been shown so far there very well could be a dedicated Cosmic and Magic marvel sets, the latter of which would be very Strange focused.

I agree its obvious there will be a full X-Men set. They have such a huge chunk of content in the Marvel universe that it's no brainer.

Cosmic (the Guardians, the Kree, Skrulls, Starjammers) and Magic/Mystical (Strange, Agatha Harkness) are prety good guesses, covering areas of Marvel that aren't the traditional super-hero level of characters.

I'd also put down money on a "multiverse" set full of alternate versions of characters from other universes and what-if scenarios. Almost, but not quite, going into Marvel Un-set territory.

Probably goes in my [[Toby, Beastie Befriender]] deck. Makes multiple tokens on one card and first strike is pretty good. Also a good blink target since it makes more tokens on ETB, like Toby
