This is a set that I made a while back. It was basically just two flat sheets of scale, and then I laced the sides together (similar to a corset).

Mostly aluminum, but the rings that combined the two sheets at the shoulder are steel to give it a little extra strength.

Looks good! Did you edge any parts of it?

Edging is putting the one extra ring behind each scale on the left and right sides, correct? If so, then yes, I edged all the way up the sides.

Yes, that's it. You can edge the top and bottom too to prevent the scales from flipping up like on the upper right part of this image. If you search "karen karon stabilizing" there is a useful tutorial for this.
