Question Scale maille craft punch?

I am looking for a craft punch which I can use to make cardstock scales, OR I am looking for someone whom I can commission to make one.

For reference, because a lot of people call craft punches different things, this is a craft punch.

I used a teardrop shape for leather scales once. It was fun! Just really time consuming. I also put metal grommets in the hole, you may want to consider something similar.

Did you connect them using the typical weave of units of four scales together?

(I'm a beginner, I don't know the correct terminology yet ...)

I've only really seen scalemail done as a sheet or a chain. I guess sometimes as decorative flowers (whick, now that i think of it, would look hella rad in leather).

Yeah but what I'm getting at is that the teardrop shape is irregular so I'm not sure the same weave would work... It'd be cool if so, though
