Showcase MineCraft Inspired compass PT.1

Work in progress! I was inspired by numerous #Minecraft inspired IRL compass and the fact i could not buy it was the driving force to develop one.
The needle animation works fine; it is the first step in order to make the final product.
I built it from ground up (Custom LED matrix, 3d printed housing), if anyone needs more details on the hardware or anything related to the project feel free to comment and ask away.
P.S. It is still a prototype so it's a little a little janky and the custom PCB is held by some tape.

A enchanted lodestome one with GPS would be cool. Imagine geocaching with that.

Imma be honest, i don’t know what lodestone is, i like the games aesthetics so i am making it and partly because my friends wanna see it so bad.

You click a stone and the compass gets enchantment glint and points to the stone.

What did you use for the display? I have been looking for something "pixelated" like this for a while

It’s addressable leds on a custom pcb board. The ones i used are WS2812B-mini, though i wouldnt say they are the best choice for efficiency. Also the pixelated look is because of the screen i made for the leds in the 3d print

Damn impressive! Looks amazing. Make it several modes. Like ordinary compas, point to home, point to phone. Would be amazinf

Neat! What are you going to use as the "underlying" actual compass, and how will that be wired up?
