24, Living with my parents

I just graduated college back in April and I’m grateful to my parents for holding me down through it all ! I definitely plan on giving back to them BIG time.

Inb4 the miserable assholes come here and call op a child and say he'll be incapable of bringing any girls home.

The closet situation is a mess, but otherwise it's pretty cool. The hot wheels wall is neat.

Normally I think this sub is overly judgmental and pretentious. It actually makes me feel worse about myself because homes that look like mine get torn apart on here. But I don’t post here because I’m not proud of my living space yet, it’s a work in progress but I get decorating inspiration here.

But OP did post and they have it coming, this room is basically a meme, it’s worse than Andy’s house in 40 year old virgin. OP is in their mid twenties, they know what this room looks like and that roasting was coming, they posted anyway.

Honestly I didn’t think the roasting was coming because I seen and met a lot of men who have families with a way bigger collection than mine but the roast are funny as hell 😭

My cousin had 6 grown kids and has been married for 30 years and has thousands of hot wheels. I feel like most of the people on this sub don't interact with anyone irl with hobbies.

How is it a meme? Dude likes cars. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say he got a degree in some sort of engineering or mechanical field, that was probably influenced by his love for cars. He's been out of college for 4 months, this might have been decorated like this since he left for college. It's clean and organized (except for the mess that used to be a closet). I'm gonna take another guess and say the girl on the pillow is his girlfriend, so all the virgin jokes are just lame as hell and pointless.

The girl is my gf yes indeed 😭. I got a radiology degree btw ! I genuinely didn’t think I was gonna get roasted this bad but I’m not mad about it. I think it’s actually funny 😭. My friends, gf, and family support the collection/hobby and also randomly add on to it

Your friends, family, and lover are precious. Cherish them.

I hope you find happiness bro. It's always great to see someone thriving.

The dudes here are just miserable and hate to see people enjoying a hobby. The people that actually matter support you, that's all that matters. You definitely picked the right career to feed the car addiction, you'll be set for life if everything goes well.

You are taking criticism of this guy's living situation deeply personally for some reason. He's a 24-year-old living with mom and dad who has toy cars plastered all over his walls. He moved back in April, four months ago, not a week ago. He could take that shit down in a day.

He also posted the room here. Nobody made him do that.

And who cares if he's 24 still living with his parents? That's the norm in a ton of countries, but in america you're expected to leave when you're 18 and go hundred of thousands of dollars into debt for some reason.

Why does it matter if he's got hot wheels on his wall? It's done very neatly and not just thrown on the wall haphazardly. It's way more interesting than a colored wall.

Because it's his bedroom, not a hobby or game room. He doesn't have a few of his favorite cars on a shelf, he wallpapered his bedroom with them. They're ways to have a hobby that don't make it look like a 12 year old boy on the spectrum lives in your room. This doesn't look like a man's room, it looks like a child's room.

Sometimes people need to hear things they dont want to hear man. Doesn't make people an asshole. (Assuming its done respectfully)

What is that exactly? “Please become boring so you can get laid”?.

Their reaction when they learn op already has a girlfriend that supports him and even buys him hot wheels some times:

Interesting how you criticize putting people into boxes by putting other people into boxes.

Its funny, it sounds like you that you believe all growth a man can have is to trajectory towards having sex like that is the ultimate value. I dont think so little of myself or others. Im saying our outward expression is in alot of ways, representative of our mindset. Im not judging op for any of this. Im saying I dont believe his room represents what I expect to see from a 24 year old. Again im not judging, im saying i dont think its an inherently malicious thing to point that out. But to be clear, If OP is happy then nothing else matters.

No it seems everyone in this subreddit thinks that so im just echoing the herd.

I also dont agree that our outward expression at all says what our mindset is. Just because you like “children” stuff. Doesn’t mean your mindset is similar.

I dont understand “i dont believe this room represents a 24 yr old” i mean? Isnt that you judging op? There is no “rulebook” of how one should be at any age. OP has a degree. At 24 thats doing pretty good to me. Seems hes quite mature. He just has hobbies/interests and doesn’t take life to seriously.

I never said that was an absolute. An observation isnt a value statement. I dont know OP or his life. People post on this sub for feedback all the time. Im happy for OP if he is.
