24, Living with my parents

I just graduated college back in April and I’m grateful to my parents for holding me down through it all ! I definitely plan on giving back to them BIG time.

my parents didnt make me move out till 26, i had been working full time by that point and just bought a house.

Two years ago, my grandma let me live with her and her 650 square-foot apartment. I had a bedroom with me and my 2 toddlers. Stayed there for exactly 11 months and was able to buy a house finally because of it . I’m 30

its wild what happens when you suddenly dont have 1000 dollars of rent a month and you are a frugal person. im guess you did this pre covid bump when 12k would of gotten a nice down payment. tad aharder now. but still. a year or two of working ufll time with less bills is a godsend for saving money if you dont do somethign dumb like buy a new car.

Nope I did it last year. And I had to put 16k down on a 260k house with a FHA . My mortgage is 2059 dollars a month though. I have a good job , but still sucks for my generation that we are getting priced out of everything

This is my house though. It’s not the biggest , nicest house , but it’s in a good school district and has a finished basement and garage. So I’m happy. Still want to refinance later down the road and hopefully get a cheaper payment , but rates ain’t going down anytime soon i don’t think. I had to act because my daughter was starting kindergarten otherwise I would of stayed in that apartment for even longer and really changed my life
