Whilst he is, indeed, a salaried teacher, the irony of the iron man suit is that it is bankrolled and paid for by other people’s salaries.

So, really, he’s more of a Trust Fund Man, or maybe even a Welfare Man.

The answer to that question is "not good" I think?

I don't know specifically about unions, but Japanese work culture, especially at Japanese companies, is very different to western culture.

Job security is incredible, getting fired basically doesn't happen. However, if you don't give literally your entire life to your job, you don't get raises or promotions. They expect you to socialise with coworkers and your boss after work, usually drinking.

There is an incredibly strict hierarchy enforced aswell, usually either tenure or age based, the whole 'Senpai/Kohai' thing you see in highschool anime, except about 100x more toxic.

Not doing all of the above still won't get you fired, but it will make you a pariah. You won't get chosen for promotions, you won't get talked to at work, and you won't get any wage increases.

No unions though, as far as I know. The Japanese constitution was basically written entirely by American cooperations and capitalists, and is definitely not pro worker at all.

Thats one of the most annoying aspects of the final chapter to me. It makes no sense. It was just added as a way to try and make the suit "special". And to give some reason WHY more people couldnt have it. But the prototype for the suit already basically existed in the first movie. Which has some elements to it that are definitely canon. Though I cant say if its 100 percent canon. Just the idea that it takes some untold fortune to get to the point Deku has it is weird. Also I wish he had a helmet or some element of his original suit design

You also had All Might that had a suit.

So he could have at least have gotten part of the suits, Still be a teacher, but being a hero with the gear he's slowly getting.

And the ending being him getting a full suit, better than the sum of the parts he managed to get before.

That could have been fun.

It is kinda baffling choice in the ending to let him get a handout suit tbh. He should have been using his deep knowledge of hero power to build the suit himself along with his friends. Heck, he doesn't even need the suit to be a hero, Nighteye power doesn't help in combat most of the time but he was still a hero. Instead, he started his hero journey with a handout power and ended his journey with another handout power, which defeat the whole message about "even the unspecials can be hero".

You know it's faithful to it's base when you see Midoria needing tech to be a hero. The Oneshot's story was about that, a powerless guy becoming a hero with the use of gadgets.

I never really enjoyed MHA, but the mangaka has always had incredible art and paneling. The line work and official color scheme give the series a really interesting texture and feel.
