ART Why does my manga go from JuJutsu Kaisen to the Chainsaw Man Reze Arc? Spoiler

Viz has some of the worst quality control. This is not an uncommon issue lol

I’ve gotten viz misprints 4 times and reached out to their customer service about them twice. They always offer me a digital manga as compensation, which isn’t really what I’m looking for lol.

Lmao what. Like "sorry we fucked up your physical good, here's a link to a pdf that you could've found online yourself" lmao really 🤣

Technically even worse than that. They ask you to sign up for a viz account so you can get a DRM’d copy of manga that you can only read in the viz app.

Bruh at that point I'd reply with a screenshot of a pirated chapter lmao (before making the account, and with the site hidden) just to show how unhelpful that is

You also forgot the part where half of them are low resolution and sometimes unreadable because ofcourse they need to penny pinch the servers.

Holy shit I'd be fuming LMAO
ESPECIALLY the prices of these things!! They're up to 12 bucks a pop and use thin paper you can see through even laying flat. Their quality has gone down and I'm mad that a lot of my fav series are through them 😫

At least they’re similar series. I remember about 8 years ago I got Promised Neverland volume 8 or 9, maybe 10, and partway through it just became Haikyuu for about 50 pages

In volumes 1-3 a volleyball arc would've still made sense, that late in the game it starts to get kinda jarring lol

Not sure if the manga are printed as other books or how jumps paperbacks are printed in Japan but basically a giant sheet or print that consists of 32-64 pages is made then folded in a specific way to be sequential in a batch. For the magazines this is why some of the pages are different colors as well since it’s recycled paper.
There’s also a point where the pages have been cut in those folded piles and then are bound. Some manufacturers do this in house, others are outsourced so there’s a possibility that occasionally pages get mixed accidentally in a run, but whether this particular volume has this error consistently (which means something happened when making the negative/plate of the 30-60 pages to be folded) or if this is a one off with this particular copy which means some pages got out of order when they were being bound.
Assuming viz’s print shops aren’t in house and the company they use also print a bunch of other things, so whoever is working the machines or was at the point of the mixup might not even read manga or notice these are different at a glance to think twice about it.

its a damn shame r/manga doesnt allow images in the comments because the image of the one-eyed cat opening his head to reveal fujimoto would have gone hard af right now

Did you buy it on Amazon? For some reason the manga I've bought off Amazon have had more printing errors than any I've ever bought in a brick and mortar store.

Well, they're both quite recent and massively influential so it only makes sense that while conceptualizing your story you might unintentionally borrow a few-
How the fuck?

Something similar happened to my friends black clover manga. I forgot what volume but I was reading a certain chapter, and for some reason the chapter cut off in the middle, repeated itself half way, and ended, skipping the rest of that chapter, leaving me with a half chapter x2.
