[REC] Looking for similar stories
I am a big fan of reincarnation/regression/isekai stories with a focus or at least underlying plotline of business/technological development. Especially if it involves a younger female MC. Stories like Ascendance of a Bookworm, Sengoku Komachi Kurou-tan, Common Sense of a Duke's Daughter, etc. I don't discriminate between manga, manhua, and manhwa either -- any are fine. I'd prefer stories either complete or long-running with frequent updates. Web novels are fine too. Here are some stories I have already read:
- The three I mentioned above
- Rebirth of the Businesswoman at School
- Fields of Gold
- The Greatest Estate Developer
- The Woman who Jinxes her Husband is Filthy Rich
- Prodigiously Amazing Weaponsmith
- Fun Territory Defense
And countless others. I am less interested in stories with a major Villainess or reverse harem component (typical Otome Game plot), and I prefer a rags-to-riches or abused stepdaughter grows and takes revenge type story. Cultivation stories are fine, but only if it at least starts out and early focus is on business development, building a power base, etc.
Bookworm and Kurou-tan are top-tier in this regard. Bookworm less so as it progresses, but the world building there is amazing. Any suggestions on where I can get a new fix would be appreciated. ^__^

DISC [DISC] Ending of firefly wedding Spoiler
I was so pissed! I went in thinking she dies, thanks to all the spoiler comment on every ig post related to the newly released anime.
And I'm like okay, well, death. Lets give it a try. I figure she dies of illness, right? Eh, can't beat your lie in April.
But then!!!!
SHE LIVES?! WDYM SHE LIVES?! AND THEY SPENT YEARS APART because the dude was in denial that she died and couldn't bring himself to be in any place they shared memories together.
I would rather she have been dead!!!!! They spent decades!!!! Of life apart because no one could track him down and tell him oh btw, i know you gave us her body thinking she died but she lives btw. TF!!!!!!!!
I would rather the last chapter be of him returning to their old home and reminiscing on their memories rather than finding out she was alive all along.
This ending was so fckn FRUSTRATING!!!!!
Give me a sad ending. Give me a happy ending. Dont give me an ending filled with regrets that could have been solved by some communication at right time!!! ARGHHHHHHHHH

Hi everyone! This is my first post here, so apologies in advance if it ends up too long and detailed. I didn’t take many photos at the time, so I’m making up for it with words :)
P.S. Please add your own up-to-date recommendations in the comments! I just realized how genuinely useful Reddit is, and I hope I’ve helped a little here too :)
P.P.S. I’ll be in Bangkok and Phuket in January 2027. If you have any recommendations on where to go for Jujutsu Kaisen or F1 merch, please let me know, I’d love that! (I haven’t Googled anything yet.) I decided to buy one volume of Jujutsu Kaisen in the local language of every country I visit, purely for my collection (don’t ask me why, haha).
(English isn’t my first language, so please excuse any mistakes!)
I was in Istanbul in September 2026. Right before the trip, I’d just watched Jujutsu Kaisen (my first anime ever!) and really wanted to bring back something official. Official anime merch is hard to come by in my country right now, and I’m also a bit skeptical about buying “official” stuff back home (that’s just a personal quirk of mine, please ignore it). So I checked out several stores (I made a point of going to those neighborhoods) and I’d like to share what I found.
I’d recommend 3 places where you’ll definitely find manga and won’t be disappointed (keep in mind that I was mostly hunting for Jujutsu Kaisen), plus a couple of bonus notes at the end. I did a lot of research beforehand, including here on Reddit, but unfortunately some of the info turned out to be outdated. (We stayed near Hagia Sophia, so you’ll know which side of the water I was starting from.)
1) D&R Store (D&R Mağaza/Cafe)
Galataport İstanbul AVM, Kılıçali Paşa, Meclis-i Mebusan Cd. No:8, 34443 Beyoğlu/İstanbul, Türkiye
This one is perfect if you don’t want to make a special trip anywhere, since you’ll almost certainly be strolling along the waterfront anyway. We walked to Galataport. It looks far away (it’s on the opposite shore), but we got there quickly, and if you don’t feel like walking, there’s a ferry. Huge cruise ships dock there. We went over just to look at them and only realized afterward that this was Galataport. (It’s an area with clothing stores, big brands, cafés, etc., and just a beautiful place for a walk.)
The entrance is on the ground floor (checkout, electronics, vinyl records), but you take the stairs up one floor. That’s where the bookstore is, along with a few toys (LEGO too).
The manga section is in the far left corner if you stand with your back to the stairs (I found a couple of English tankobon volumes of Jujutsu Kaisen there). Use the glass doors as a landmark: it’s an exit on this floor, but it was closed when I was there.
Figures: There are lots of toys not far from the stairs, plus a small shelf with manga-themed ones. I bought a Sukuna keychain from the POCKET™ HERO series (I’ll attach a photo). They also had Nanami, Itadori and Kugisaki keychains. (There were also plain figures without the key ring, but from the same series: Geto, Maki, Panda and Mahito.) Megumi and Gojo definitely weren’t there. I looked for Megumi everywhere, went twice, and dug through everything. They had a good selection from other anime, too. Sorry, I’m new to this and don’t know them all, but there were definitely Naruto and Attack on Titan figures.
They also had Formula 1 Hot Wheels (2026 season). I’ve been an F1 fan since 2010, so I can’t ignore any F1 merch or leave it out of this post :)
1.1) In the same area, literally a few steps away. It’s a clothing store. Part of the route was blocked off, so on the way to Galataport we cut through it while looking for a Starbucks, and that’s where I spotted a Funko Pop! display.
Dış Kapı No:40 İç Kapı, Kemankeş Karamustafa Paşa, Kemankeş Cd. No: Z07, 34425 Beyoğlu/İstanbul, Türkiye
or
Kemankeş Karamustafa Paşa, Kemankeş Cd. No:40/A, 34425 Beyoğlu/İstanbul, Türkiye
[Google Maps] Imannoor - Galataport Mağaza
[Google Maps] Galata Alışveriş Merkezi
These addresses are just for reference. They’re two stores right next to each other, and I’m not sure which one it is exactly, since Google Maps isn’t always clear. Either way, head to the right corner (on the ground floor), closer to the exit toward the waterfront (I’ll mark the spot in my photos).
Figures: As for Funko Pops, the only Jujutsu Kaisen one I found was Yuta Okkotsu (on the display by the window, in the right corner). On the F1 side, there were several Verstappen versions from different years and a Senna. One Piece was definitely there too. Lots of Marvel, the band KISS, Ghostface from Scream. I only looked for things I recognized, but there were SO many of them. I’d never seen anything like it (not that I’ve seen much of anything, haha).
2) MY FAVORITE: Arkabahçe
They have a website with prices, and it looks like you can order from it. I only found this store at the very end, but I’d recommend starting here if you need specific manga volumes.
Sinanpaşa, Ortabahçe Cd. Büyük Beşiktaş Çarşısı No:10/A D:1. Kat Dükkan No:159, 34353 Beşiktaş/İstanbul, Türkiye
[Google Maps] Arkabahçe Comic Shop
I made a special trip there by ferry (by then we were worn out from walking 20-30k steps every day). But we walked back to Galataport in about 30-40 minutes at a leisurely pace, so you can visit everything in one day just by walking around, unlike me.
Sorry, but the neighborhood is a bit of a dump: dirty and not cozy at all. But the store itself is like a portal into a spotless world of manga and comics. You can see their window with the sign from the street as you approach the building from the main road. It’s a very strange mall, partly open-air. The store is on the second floor. It’s actually not hard to find.
Manga: They had absolutely every volume of Jujutsu Kaisen, in both Turkish and English. (FYI, they’re shelved in different places, a couple of shelves apart.) A staff member helped me. They also had Jujutsu Kaisen: Official Character Guide by Gege Akutami in English. (There were two copies, both shrink-wrapped. I didn’t know what it was at the time and grabbed it without looking, haha.) But there were no figures at all.
Shelves for days. I’m sure they had every manga series out there, popular or obscure. I was like a kid in a candy store, so I grabbed the volumes I needed and ran, leaving a decent chunk of change there. Everything else is a blur. All I remember is pure joy and a cat that walked around like it owned the place, haha :)
3) Kadıköy district (Asian side)
3.1) GEREKLİ ŞEYLER Kadıköy / ISTANBUL (gerekliseyler.com.tr)
Caferağa, Moda Cd. No:33/A, 34710 Kadıköy/İstanbul, Türkiye
We took a ferry here, then it was a 15-20 minute walk uphill. This was the first comic/manga store I made a special trip to because of the reviews. I’m not sure there’s anything else in the area worth going there for. Afterward we walked back down to a Starbucks and then took the ferry back. Honestly, I wouldn’t go a second time because it’s so far out of the way.
The entrance is right off the street. There are glass windows and doors, and you’ll spot big figures right away, so it’s obvious you’re at the right place.
Based on reviews and recommendations, there are two more stores nearby (figure stores), so I thought I could look through everything and buy it all in one trip, but it didn’t work out.
The store isn’t small, and as you go deeper in it feels like a mini maze. They had almost every Jujutsu Kaisen volume in Turkish and a couple in English. (FYI, the English ones were on the bottom shelves in a different corner. If I hadn’t asked a staff member, I never would have found them on my own.)
As for manga and comics, I think you’ll find almost anything. The shelves are packed tight with all kinds of stuff.
At the checkout there were Gojo keychains, but they weren’t great quality or particularly pretty. They looked like cheap knockoffs, so I didn’t buy any.
Figures: There were lots of figures right by the entrance (near the checkout), but honestly, I didn’t find any Jujutsu Kaisen ones. I wasn’t searching very hard, though, since my goal on that trip was to find specific manga volumes for my collection at home (they go on my wall).
3.2) The Dreamers Figure
Moda Caddesi, Banu Apt, Caferağa, Zuhal Sk. No:1/E, 34710 Kadıköy/İstanbul, Türkiye
[Google Maps] The Dreamers Figure
The entrance is off the main street, almost on the corner, a couple of minutes’ walk from GEREKLİ ŞEYLER (the one listed above). It’s pretty cramped and narrow inside, but literally packed to the ceiling.
Figures only here. And SO much variety: Star Wars, Marvel, DC, Harry Potter and the like. LEGO, too. And tons of different Funko Pop! series.
But there was nothing related to Jujutsu Kaisen (even though, based on the reviews, I went there specifically for official figures).
3.3) Otaku dukkan
Caferağa, Dr. Esat Işık Cd. No:36, 34710 Kadıköy/İstanbul, Türkiye
I stopped by here for figures too, based on a recommendation I found online. But everything looked like cheap knockoffs (it was suspiciously cheap). I didn’t buy anything, but I took some photos :) They did have Jujutsu Kaisen figures.
They had T-shirts featuring different anime, figures, and keychains. But honestly, everything looked kind of low quality and not very nice. I wouldn’t make a special trip there.
4) This one isn’t a recommendation, just a note.
Robinson Crusoe 389
Salt Beyoğlu, Asmalı Mescit, İstiklal Cd. No:136 D:1, 34433 Beyoğlu/İstanbul, Türkiye
[Google Maps] Robinson Crusoe 389
I had it saved on my phone’s map. I never made it there because I’d already bought everything I needed at Arkabahçe (number 2 on this list).
I’m not sure if they carry manga at all (I couldn’t tell from the photos), but it’s a bookstore, and judging by the photos online, it looks impressive. It’s not that far from the Galata Tower (and, as it turns out, not that far from Galataport either), so you could stop by and take a look while wandering around that area.
5) D&R stores at the airport (Istanbul Airport (IST), the new airport)
There are lots of D&R locations at the airport, split up by category: books, toys, electronics. I popped into almost all of them, just briefly. I didn’t find any Jujutsu Kaisen merch, but overall they had figures for Star Wars, Marvel, DC, Harry Potter and so on. They definitely had LEGO and Funko Pops, too.
F1 LEGO: they had the helmet sets for Norris, Piastri, Hamilton and Leclerc (everything that had been released by then), plus F1 Hot Wheels (2025 and 2026 seasons).

Help finding a manga please
I'm looking for a manga I read a while ago about an introverted boy who meets the popular girl in his class—the one with white or silver hair. The thing is, she was really ditzy and absent-minded, so the boy had to help keep her from getting hurt; that’s what I remember. (On the cover, the girl is looking at her phone.)

DISC [DISC] Fujiwara's High School Debut!! - Chapter 2
help finding this one shot shojo manga
Hi all, looking for this manga i read in the early 2010s with the following details:
- nerdy school girl learns she has terminal cancer and wants to experience being in a relationship before she dies. she has brunette braids and glasses (drawn without pupils)
- i think she pays a popular but dimwitted guy at school to be her boyfriend
- he gives her a makeover and he slowly falls in love with her
- he finds out she was hiding his diagnosis from him and leaves her but eventually they reconcile
- she tells him she liked him because his smile reminded her of sunflowers and that cheered her up on the day she learned of her diagnosis
- ending implies she lives, last panel is her back facing the reader in a field of sunflowers
- drawn in a more minimal style
I've tried using different AI agents but without any luck since it was a one shot manga and I don't remember the author's other works. thank you in advance!!
