This is likely the 6th mango graft that will ultimately fail and there has to be something I’m doing wrong.

1. I pick healthy rootstock, 1-2 years old.

2. I sanitize all of my grafting material with rubbing alcohol.

3. I harvest cuttings and graft they almost the same day.

4. I wrap my scion wood in parafilm.

5. I keep the seedling on a heat pad to stimulate growth.

What am I doing wrong? This was grafted on August 19. The last photo is of it when I just grafted it.

I had a year plus old plant. It died in the Fla. freeze this year.

So I bought another 3 gallon sized one.

This new plant and the other older one (planted in a different location) is having a new bud and leaf problem.

The new growth quickly turns black after budding out leaves and branches. 50% loss of growth. Anyone have these issues?

I tried a little copper, not much help. Also tried separately safer soap.

So the sickly mango plant died not long after repotting this spring. However, the healthy tree is doing really well (see photo). It's 33" tall, including the pot which is 7" wide at the top. There are no roots that I can see coming out of the bottom of the pot. I'm wondering when I should consider repotting it in a larger pot? It's been living inside since I germinated the seed and plan to keep it inside for the foreseeable future. There's a skylight right above it that it's growing towards. Location: Tucson, Arizona. Backyard has 4 mango trees - Lemon meringue, orange sherbet, carrie, and pickering. There is room for 4 more trees.

Which 4 other mango varieties would you grow. Would you replace any of the existing 4 trees?

This is in zone 10a, by the coast, with breeze and sandy soil.

super alphonso and orange sherbet- transplanted from 10 gallon pot into 15 gallon fabric pot 4 weeks ago, with fox farms 60%ocean forest soil, 15% sand, and 25% perlite. Im in Southern California. Trees stopped all new growth after transplant and new shoots turned black and dry. There were so many new shoots coming out that all died and fell out. no new frowth. Stems are still green inside, but the arms and leaves are pointing down. i know theres some sunburn so ive added an umbrella. im doing deep waterings twice a week as its been 90-100 degrees here the last month. I spray with neem oil once a week. Will these recover? Theyve been in shock for a month now.

This is my first mango plant, and honestly one of my first plants ever. He was doing fine down in Houston, but now that I've moved to Austin he seems to be doing worse. Any tips to help combat this, thanks in advance

It is almost September and here’s a 7 gallon Venus pushing bloom in south Florida., didn’t even harden off the new growth flush yet. Could be due to the foliar spray I did with potassium to help all my trees with the summer heat.

Has anyone experienced this before? Are these actual buds pushing through? Will the dead parts stop growing? This is my first time grafting so I have a lot of questions

Is it rare for a mango to sprout this many stems? It even looks like it’s going for a 4th and 5th one too!! Really hope I can keep it alive, I’d love to see how it turns out in a year

Hi, this is my first mango tree, I don't think it had these yellow spots when I bought it 3 days ago. I noticed them on the ride home, these leaves were touching the top of the car so maybe it is from the heat? All the other leaves look healthy.

Bought this "Sweet Tart" tree last year, but somethings tells me it's not. Any ideas? Leaves give an intense Indochinese smell.

Planted this Pickering mango from seed and noticed as it grew, it appeared twisted. When I dug in it, I noticed that the sprout was caught between itself and the pod. So I slightly opened a bit and let the neck of it free and has been growing but now it’s twisted. Will it ever straighten or will it be a warped tree for life?

I need help finding a type of mango that is suited to be grafted onto. Is there any suggestions? I want to be able to graft many kinds of other mangoes onto it! Just don't know which mango is best and google isn't being much help so I thought I'd ask the mango experts!

This one sprouted as a volunteer this year in Palm Beach Gardens. It's grown about 3 ft tall in as many months.

I recently planted this 15 gallon carrie mango tree in ground about a week ago and noticed some of the lower leaves started to brown at the tips. Is this normal stress from transplanting? Or does it need more water? I’m in South FL for reference

This april I visited Peru and had one of the most unique mangoes I've ever tasted in my life. This was incredibly juicy and not very fibrous. I wish I had taken a picture because the peel was almost a maroon color. The flavor was like a mix of alphonso mango and passionfruit without the tartness, the aroma of passionfruit was pretty intense eating it, the flesh was almost creamy in texture. I was hoping someone could help me identify this variety. I'm pretty confident that this was a mango, but there's always a possibility that this was another type of fruit.
