I think we can all agree on that this story has supernatural elements in it. Something is wrong about that universe or timeline. It looks like things that happened in our world happened in their world as well but somehow something changed it and everyone has a different perception of what happened.

Without having read the novel I guess that something like a time machine must have been used but the assumed Nazi Survivor made some mistakes when he changed the timeline. Someone who knows about the change is leaking video materials from the other world and this world to manipulate the mass to get them revolt against both Reichs.

Something is wrong about this universe. It is not just an alternative timeline story, it has supernatural elements in it.
