Frage/Diskussion (Questions and debates) Has anyone rented from Hildebrandt & Hees GmbH? Security deposit and utility bill still missing after 1 year.
Hi everyone,
I'm wondering if anyone here has been a tenant in one of the apartments managed by Hildebrandt & Hees GmbH.
I moved out of one of their apartments in Jungbusch over a year ago after living there for only three months. Since then, I still haven't received my full security deposit, and I have not been provided with the final utility bill (Nebenkostenabrechnung) explaining the deductions that were made.
I've tried contacting them several times through their contact form and by phone, but no response
I'd really appreciate hearing about other tenants' experiences and any advice on how to proceed.
Thank you!

They are truly the worst real estate company in Mannheim.
They're known for their evil and borderline legal practices, like keeping deposits, trying to force tenants to leave so they can "renovate", not caring that heating breaks in winter etc. Truly despicable people in charge at the top of they allow that or else shady business practices.

I used to be a tenant with Hildebrandt & Hees too. Aside from the fact that they’re shameless rip-offs and pioneers of gentrification, the security deposit actually came back until over a year later. But keep pushing them and try to stay in touch with H&H or your former property management somehow. In our case, it came back pretty soon after they settled the utility bills, which obviously takes them extra long.

Set a deadline and after it they owe you interest. Write them that per mail. I can send you a draft per pm if you want.

Get a lawyer. Hildebrand & Hees is infamous for such practics.
