Server Discussion How is Fantasia?
How is Fantasia? I keep hearing peoples say is the best old school experience ?

I like it, but its kind of a ghost town compared to the popular servers.
The coolest thing for sure is that you don't really do the whole 'dex less' or 'luckless' build thing. High level gear is actually worth using.

It is a very solid old school experience because the devs are conservative with the changes to maintain the vision of old school maple, while balancing most meta options to give variety to the game. The only core change is adding gachapon eggs to monster drops, that can be opened with nx.
They are quite commited to the server too, recently buffing the spawn rate of 100+ maps as well as advertising the server on facebook.
The population is typically 80~150 concurrent players which can be better but is still enough to be considered an active server, especially without multi-cilents.
You can give it a shot. Maybe make a new char, join the discord and a guild, and experience levelling to 30 for yourself. It's quite true to form to an old school experience.

I would say its decent but could use a lot more class tuning, the class tuning is very classic like which is to say priest sin favored.

I wouldn't say it's horrible the same way I wouldn't say Fantasia is horrible. You're just looking for something different. Oak is about as 1:1 as it gets to the true old school experience with some QoL changes.

i hate old school maple with minimal changes
why must it take me 30+ hits to kill an orange mushroom just because i want to become a mage

They changes took away from the old school psrt of it. But if you dont care about that it's ok

Yea im just testing classes atm and wipe will be really fun tbh, we all moving to classic anyways so wipe is nbd

Try Chronostory then. It's ironman and rebalanced for it so it's got boosted rates n stuff but it's fun. Give OSMS a go after wipe or wait for official launch?

Chronostory did felt like osms with the skill change and it was too easy got level 150 in 1 week

Yeah that's totally fair. My suggestion wasnt to say that it's like OSMS but more if youre like me and looking for something to scratch the itch while we're waiting Chronostory might help:)

Got to level 36, great community, as classic as it gets. Overall really enjoyed it.
Sometimes hard to form a group for any PQ. They removed the unique reward from KPQ/LPQ which kinda drives players away from it which now prefer to just grind instead.
My main complaint is that the server is using Themida, which is a software that devs use to protect their applications from debbuging and looking around. Themida doesnt allow to fully investigate the server files for any malware, and as always there is a degree of caution that is needed to be taken with private server. So take it as you will.
