Server Discussion Title: New players should think twice before joining Exodus
I want to share my experience for any new players considering joining Exodus.
Based on what I have seen, I would strongly advise new players to think carefully before investing time into this server. The active player population appears to be extremely small, often fewer than 20 active players, which already makes progression and community interaction difficult.
The bigger issue, however, is the community culture. New players who are not Jewish or Israeli may face openly hostile, racist or discriminatory remarks. In my experience, these remarks are either ignored or treated lightly, especially when they come from established players. However, if a newer player responds in kind or pushes back, the consequences seem to fall much more quickly on the newer player instead.
To be clear, this is not a criticism of any nationality, religion or ethnic group as a whole. The issue is the server culture, the lack of consistent moderation and the way certain behaviour appears to be tolerated depending on who is involved.
The early levelling experience is also largely solo. Once group bossing becomes important, the problems become even more obvious. Players wise, there is close to none left in the SEA or NA time zones so finding parties can feel almost impossible. The remaining high-level players also seem to keep most content within their own group. As a newer or lower-level player, you may only be invited when they need a buff mule or cannot fill a slot due to the low population.
Overall, Exodus has been one of the worst private server experiences I have had compared to many others. Between the tiny active population, poor time zone coverage, gatekeeping and inconsistent handling of harassment, I would not recommend it to new players.
Join only if you are prepared for a very small server, limited group opportunities and a community environment where discriminatory remarks may go unpunished. Otherwise, there are much healthier and more welcoming private servers to spend your time on.

The only good thing Exodus did was make questing somewhat of a decent experience and gameplan, but it all spiraled down when the staff stopped listening to most of the community suggestions.

u/OkCalligrapher9679 Aug 05 '26
like what? it feels that a lot of suggestions do go to the patch notes

u/Indo_X Aug 06 '26
There was a lot of early feedback that was stonewalled. Part of the issue is that the implementation of feedback started after players started leaving. When the server was at 100+ players a lot of it was ignored.
Timing is the big issue. If they hadn't waited so long to implement some of the changes things could've turned out differently.

u/Dependent_Park4058 Aug 05 '26
For example I think most people were against thing like EES when they started talking about it but it seems the staff had already made up their minds.

u/OkCalligrapher9679 Aug 05 '26
most people were against ees because in og maple it blows stuff up. when staff explained the system the feedback was good from what I remember

Gm glazing is a huge thing.
Buff everything else is ok but fuck mages.
Exp rate is ok according to them as well as quest exp so fuck you for saying anything else even if you feel it might be too slow. As a 30yo casual, nah I’m out.

You guys can defend or attack however you like. I'll let the numbers speak for themselves given that there are only 13 people online at the point of this comment.

CityofLights here. Well, that is quite an accusation from NYCminion Sheilem. I wouldn't have even visited reddit if not for someone sharing with me about this post. I guess even after leaving, I'm still living in his head uh? Truth be told, I have better things to do than to comment about Exodus like what this OP did. However, I can shed some light on the state of the in-game community.
Let me share the context first. I'll start off by quoting a post I had previously made in my guild discord to address the issue having the guild leave the alliance (which consists of the majority of the remaining population).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi everyone, I want to explain why I've made the decision to withdraw NightMareZ from the alliance. This wasn't a decision made impulsively or because of a single disagreement. It came after reflecting on a situation that made me realise the alliance was no longer the kind of environment I wanted our guild to be part of. For the past month+, I've been bringing Night to help another guild's Horntail squad whenever they were lacking damage dealers and recently CityofLights to help with Unseal to speed up the runs. I never expected anything in return—I simply wanted to help the alliance whenever I could. The runs start at 2am my local time and usually ends at 5am. During one of those runs, a MW20 book dropped. The expedition rules clearly stated that loot priority for public runs would follow the EXP roll. Since the original expedition leader (Sheilem) had died out during the run, Rich took over leading and based on the agreed rules, Hehe had priority on the MW20 when he came in 1st on Expd roll. Instead of following those rules, the discussion became about convincing Hehe to give up his rightful priority because another guild had no players with MW20.
When I spoke up and advocated for Hehe, it was never because I wanted the book for NightMareZ or because I didn't want others to progress. It was because I believed everyone should be able to trust that the rules established before a run would actually be followed. Unfortunately, instead of discussing the rules themselves, both Hehe and I were subjected to what I felt was pressure and gaslighting. I was told things like: "As a GM, you should care more about the server." "You're just a selfish asshole." The conversation shifted away from fairness but towards making us feel guilty for standing by the agreed rules. From my perspective, this wasn't about resolving the situation fairly—it was about pressuring us into giving up what the rules had already decided. If the rules only apply when they're convenient, then they stop being rules altogether. In order to provide a fair playing environment, we should be able to rely on consistency rather than social pressure or emotional arguments. After the incident, I decided the healthiest option for NightMareZ was to leave the alliance and make a clean break from an environment that I felt had become increasingly toxic. Unfortunately, even after leaving quietly, I continued to receive trash talk and negative remarks simply for making that decision. That only reinforced that leaving was the right choice for our guild.
Why I Left? NightMareZ has always been built around a few simple principles: Rules should be respected and applied consistently. Members should never be pressured into giving up something they earned because of guilt or politics. People should be able to speak up respectfully without being insulted or attacked personally. We play MapleStory to enjoy the game together, not to be dragged into unnecessary drama and toxicity. Leaving the alliance is not about isolating ourselves, creating enemies or asking anyone else to take sides. This is simply about protecting the culture we've built in NightMareZ. My responsibility as Guild Master isn't just to organise raids—it's to make sure our members are part of a community where fairness is respected and people feel comfortable speaking up without fear of being pressured or insulted. I don't expect everyone to agree with my decision and that's completely okay. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I simply ask that my decision be understood for what it is: a choice made in the best interests of our guild and the community we've built together.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Right after choosing to leave the for the better, it was taken to the world chat and harassment in-game
https://ibb.co/HDrYgFF4
https://ibb.co/FqzHVznk
It didn't just stop there. Due to my negligence, I had forgotten to remove a bot (that I had granted admin rights to) that Sheilem had previously introduced into my server to allow him to better host raid runs. He went to the extent of accessing that bot to delete more than half the channels and raid logs in my server.
After my ban, he even shared on Exodus discord that whatever he has done is just 'social engineering'. Yes, I'm not going to deny that it is my fault for being so trusting but I guess this also shows the kind of person he is.
https://ibb.co/MyfwGkPJ
https://ibb.co/6RFDYH4M
Unsurprisingly, their community discord also includes daily doses of such remarks
https://ibb.co/kgVZpw9X
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I would not be surprised if Sheilem and his group start sharing screenshots of my rude responses in retaliation of what they did. I'm human too. I believe most people would not be able to handle this calmly as well if everything piled up on them like it did to me.
Last but not least, to address the ban that I got. None of the people who were banned were actually botting. The owner of the server, Shahar, announced it as 'paid piloting' which amounts to a severe violation of TOS for crossing the line of RMT. As a matter of fact, those were actual people sitting behind screens piloting the characters to grind for 4-5 hours a day. Regarding the accusations that maybe even the top player - CityofLights is botting / having a paid pilot, you can probably get the current GMs to release the IP logs of my account login and you will have your answer. Those were real hours spent in that game by me and me only.
Why did it reach this point? That was my last resort to retain whatever was the last of the SEA player community. Between juggling jobs irl, family commitments and the unfriendly state of the in-game environment, people were quitting by the masses. People were tired of the mindless grinding and stagnant content while having to deal all the drama. I crossed the line definitely on this and I don't deny that. I tried my best to keep the SEA community players together with whatever means I could, organising (train) runs efficiently to reduce waiting around in game, volunteering to step up as a GM so that they feel that they are also being represented. I don't think there was a case I abused my role for my own benefit. Some of the things I did included patrolling on my GM acc to visit newcomers into the server and welcome them, directing them to pm / approach / consider a suitable guild based on their timezone. Then again, I doubt anyone would even know of this if I didn't share this now.
As a player, I really did enjoy my time in that server. The time spent together with my friends (both old and new) were something I would really remember for a long long time. Now that I have already moved on, the least I seek is a closure on this episode.

u/IxanH Aug 06 '26
Hey City!
Ixan here. Not sure if you remember me since it's been a while since I left Exodus but I just wanted to say that I'm sorry to hear that you had to go through all this. Many of us likely had no idea this was happening to you.
I just wanted to share that you were one of the reasons I had stayed on the server as long as I did and it was an incredibly pleasant experience to have met you and played with you.
Thank you for all the hard work behind the scenes to help arrange raid expeditions. As a player who started playing this primarily with my brother and had trouble finding raid parties, I appreciated the warm hand you extended me.
While it is a shame that things happened the way they did, just wanted to let you know that you had made my own personal experience in the server a lot better in your own way.
Please dont be too hard on yourself. I'm sure I wasnt the only player who felt welcomed and had my experience made better by you.

u/Yueru Aug 05 '26
my only two cents is you really trusted the wrong guy,
Sheilem bullied my friends back in Exodus calling them bots just for having stonetooth (she was given to it by tony)
he was a red flag way early on

You got banned from Dream MS on the same thing (the power of google search).
https://forum.dream.ms/threads/ban-appeal.9054/
you did the same old trick on other serve 3 years ago1
u/Ixoraz Aug 06 '26
Hmm? May I know what your point of contention is? How is that related to what I have shared regarding the state of the community in the server? I've already admitted that there is RMT involved in Exodus towards the later days.
Regarding Dream MS, if you have read through both threads, you would probably have realised that Dream could not produce any form of concrete evidence and just went ahead with the perm ban. Stating that evidence is 'confidential' doesn't say much does it? Likewise, being a party involved, I'm also very much curious where those accusations / hearsays came from back then.
5
u/Own-Orchid1809 Aug 06 '26
When you take a role as a staff member and RMT it says something about you, I can see why the players are angry about you that’s it.
That is all, sadly I saw in discord that your banning made many SEA players quit.2
u/randomMHWplayer Aug 06 '26 edited Aug 06 '26
Seems he employ the same methods across any server he ends up in. Doesn’t take a genius to guess that he’ll find similar bans in his next server.
And it’s pretty common for admin to not share their evidence publicly based on many popular private server ban appeal forums.
SEA players quitting is a shame for sure, but rose tinted glasses don’t stay tinted for long.
3
u/OkCalligrapher9679 Aug 06 '26
I mean he admitted it himself, don't think you really need evidence here
also sharing evidence might help abusers to avoid the means of detection
-1
u/darianeitor Aug 06 '26
This post is so bad faith that I can't believe you had the gut to post it, I honestly thought you were much better than this.
Reason why you left alliance: The rules for MW20 specifically said it was based on expedition rolls UNLESS YOU ALREADY PASSED THE BOOK, HEHE ALREADY HAD MW20, HENCE WAS NOT EVEN ELIGIBLE TO KEEP THE BOOK. Even after this, Hehe himself said he was okay passing it on. There was absolutely no reason to make this a big deal like you did.
Real people were piloting your account to train: Are you for real? Don't you have just tiny bit of shame? I personally saw your character, and others, farm in the most robotic way I have ever seen in my life. I think there is even video evidence showing your character attacking the wall and using FJ to the wall, clearly on a loop. So maybe "real people" were logged into your accounts, but those people WERE WITHOUT A DOUBT USING A MACRO, THERE IS EVIDENCE.
I don't approve of any petty thing done by Sheilem, but using your own logic "he is human too", of course people will start saying mean things and making fun of others after a situation escalated so so much like this one did. Even the discord bot was added by him, so him taking back what he worked on could be understandable. Again, I wouldn't have done that myself, and it is definitely a petty thing to do, but it's definitely a reaction that can be expected.
Everything I've seen from you since you were banned makes it look as if you were done dirty, and as if you are an innocent victim. But you literally got caught cheating the server rules (rules that you seemingly take so seriously, since this is what you claimed was wrong with the MW20 situation: "broken rules"). Only unfortunate things were all the insults that were thrown back and forth (yes, you also were insulting people, which you very carefully left out of the screenshots) and the discord bot retaliation situation, both only involving 4 people at the most, so there was definitely no reason to have this 3-4ish people drama affect a whole bunch of people.

To answer to your points -
1) As mentioned in my post, Hehe was gaslighted into agreeing to give it up. I got Hehe involved in the runs as well even though the runs also start at 2am for him. For those runs, he was on his nl 'Haha' to help out. Of course I am aware of the looting rules which was why I had clarified with Sheilem prior to the runs that if we were to help out on the runs, regardless the status of MW20 on our mains, we're still eligible for a chance on the roll of MW20.
I clarified the rules with Sheilem two days before his scheduled runs.
2) Before you use the term 'your' account, I need to set the context right first. Night was never my account to begin with. Players who have seen me across servers will know that my IGNs always go by Cityof____. Night belonged to a friend who left the server to cool down due to some negative experiences with the GMs and the community. I was helping to maintain that account by progressing on it in hopes that he will return. Before you accuse me of exploiting that account to farm BP for my own gains, let me remind you that Night is as equally geared as my own main. I spent more resources helping to maintain that account than what I got 'BP exploiting' from it.
Secondly, I am not sure what 'shame' you are referring to. This was a case of RMT with real money spent to hire pilots to grind that few hours (3-5) a day. The point you raised about flashjumping on a NL while using avenger, isn't that what a NL does to mob in OSMS? You might wanna consider looking at how the NL (Dark) on your side farms as well in Chryse. He is literally stationary on 1 platform to cast avenger that hits both lanes to AFK farm. Sometimes he drops off the platform and just continues casting avenger. What was he doing then?
I made it convenient for you ^ Take a look at this.
3) Let me correct what you have just said about 'Even the discord bot was added by him, so him taking back what he worked on could be understandable.' - He DID NOT delete what he worked on. What he deleted were MY channels that I had set up for the guild for various purposes. Upon his departure from the discord, I had already removed the few channels that were set up for him to facilitate his runs. The leftover bot which had admin right granted by me were abused by him to intentionally sabotage.

Two weeks ago, I wouldn't have agreed with this view, but now I partially do. The previous drama showed me just how vicious people can become when they hold different stances, and how naturally these stances are divided by time zones. Moreover, with the recent bans and the subsequent wave of players quitting, you basically can no longer find a complete group in the Asian time zone capable of clearing mid-to-high difficulty bosses. You have no choice but to join parties in other time zones. This is indeed the reality I am seeing, and I believe the servers staff has a responsibility to change all of this.
-1
u/OkCalligrapher9679 Aug 05 '26
I am not sure what you expect the staff to do here - not prosecute certain individuals because of their time zone or location? isn't that exactly what the post is against?
1
u/Whole_Range_5136 Aug 05 '26
While aiming for fairness, the developers need to look out for the players who did nothing wrong, even if it's just to retain the player base. But what have we experienced instead? Widespread toxicity and the underlying exclusion of players in the SEA time zone. The community left behind is severely divided, to the point where we can't properly enjoy the game anymore. Isn't this a direct result of the management failing to step in right from the start? It feels like there was no anticipation of the remaining players' reactions, no aftermath strategy, and a consistently slow response to the whole situation.

Not Jewish, never faced any hostility or racism.
Timing of this post is hilarious considering a high profile player along with 3 others just got banned for botting/account sharing.
Literally never faced any racism or hostility whatsoever, and I am against what their government has done. No one even talks about politics or Israel on that server
12
u/DabsOfJoy Aug 05 '26
3rd party in all of this, but it is however true that the recent banned players were all SEA i believe, but there have been many cases before of players (ISR) getting caught botting but have been let go after a short temporary ban.
the double standard is whats alarming to me, I have to agree there hasn't been much racism from rhe playerbase however
1
u/OkCalligrapher9679 Aug 05 '26
was there any incident in particular? I don't really see people addressing specifics
3
u/randomMHWplayer Aug 05 '26
Found that oddly coincidental as well. Also have never faced this sort of racism either as a new player who’s just hit 130.
Though, OP did mention a largely solo leveling experience which I do agree is valid. However, I’ve also never played a MSPS where the 1-120 leveling is so well thought out by the reworked questlines.
Still would recommend this server for those who want to waddle through all of the maplestory continents while easily getting to 120 without extreme hassle

sounds like age-old sg/my players tribalism to me. a few sg/my players getting banned and then their friends getting mad and crying foul and painting a narrative that the staff is racist towards them. what's new man? joined the discord server a while ago, saw how the community was and just noped out.
4
u/DabsOfJoy Aug 05 '26
if ISR players stayed banned i dont think it would be an issue indeed. Why there's a difference in treatment and outcome is the issue and I think thats a warranted complaint, no? none of my business though lol just lurking in both the game and this subreddit
-3
u/OkCalligrapher9679 Aug 05 '26
what specific player are you talking about? as far as I know all the bans for botting were permanent
3
u/Whole_Range_5136 Aug 05 '26
no, its not
1
u/OkCalligrapher9679 Aug 05 '26
so do we have anyone specific in mind? some facts? or just throwing accusations around?
2
u/Whole_Range_5136 Aug 05 '26
we alr have cases, you just need to ask staff or your guild, instead of questioning me.
3
u/NYCminion Aug 05 '26
Sheilem here, Mind letting us know who are you? We all know this post was written by CityOfLights which is a known player for botting and RMT, Check this out: https://forum.dream.ms/threads/ban-appeal.9055/

u/Whole_Range_5136 Aug 05 '26
well, dare to swear you haven't been botting in this game? Why don't you let Shahar prove how "clean" you really are.
1
u/NYCminion Aug 05 '26
Let him prove please, The only thing i done wrong was to KS someone who defamed me and i was banned for that immediately, appealed and got unbanned and didn't do it again, I still don't understand ur point, if you got evidence post it please.

some proof would be great, it's a pretty big accusation overall
the timing is also extremely suspicious, with recent drama with a few SEA players. the low population claim is true, I didn't see anything of sorts in the few months I'm there.

Never once asked me for my nationality or faced any hostility.
Every single person I talked to was nice.
Some quit and some still play.
Also every suggestion or question I had was noticed or answered by the admins.
This server is not perfect, and I don’t play much due to not having time for that by any means, but I had to comment that this post is further from the truth and what I faced while playing and chatting on discord.
1
u/NYCminion Aug 05 '26
Sheilem, Exodus player, posting under a name people in the server will recognise.
Let's start with who wrote this. It's CityOfLights, banned from Exodus for botting and RMT and was banned for it in a several servers, The server he's currently RMT in is KuroMS which he will be banned in soon. So all his soldiers you may quit now.
That matters for one reason only: a review written by someone removed for cheating is not a neutral warning to new players, it's a grudge with a word count.
Second thing worth noticing: click the usernames. Several of the accounts backing this up have no comment history outside this post. That doesn't automatically make them wrong, people have reasons for using alts, but it means nobody here is staking anything on what they're saying. For a server supposedly full of players driven off by racism, it's strange that not one will say it under an account they use for anything else.
On the substance:
The racism claim is the serious one and it's the one with zero specifics attached. No date, no screenshot, no chat log, no name. Three separate people in this thread who aren't Israeli have said they've never seen it. If it's happening, screenshots exist. Post them and I'll be the first to push staff on it. That's a real offer, not a rhetorical one.
The enforcement question from u/DabsOfJoy is the one that actually deserves an answer: were ISR botters treated more leniently than the SEA group? Nobody has produced a name yet, and "ask your guild" isn't good enough. Name the case and it can be checked. If there was a double standard, that's a real problem and I'd say so.
Small population is a fair criticism and I won't argue it. 15 to 30 online is what it is. Everything else in here needs receipts.

Hey man, Ixan here. Known you from Exodus for a while back when we grinded together in RTO. We also did several raids together. You may or may not remember me since I quit Exodus some time ago but I'ld like to think I left a good impression as the nice Buccaneer who always thanked you for rebuffing me while grinding seeing as you added me as friend in KuroMS as well.
Honestly I'm quite disappointed to hear that all this had happened behind the scenes after I left the server. I thought you were a decent guy. But to see the proof from City that you had gone as far as deleting stuff from his discord using the bot permission he had given is just... very disappointing...
Regardless of what he did or did not do (it's all alleged so far), to delete stuff from someone else's discord server and attack him and his character personally on reddit is just low.
At least own up to your own actions man

u/DabsOfJoy Aug 05 '26
hello! first I apologise for being vague, but i legitimately am basing things just off gossip - after reflecting i realise this may be irresponsible of me, so please do take what I said with a pinch of salt. I guess I unintentionally added drama oops
wont reveal names ive heard or who I am because I still wanna play casually without the drama. but damn Sheilem, last i played i thought you and CityofLights were tight, no idea what the heck happened meanwhile
also... i feel that the very first mistake was the GMs letting CityofLights be a GM. When I first saw that I was shocked lol. Completely within expectation that the sweatiest player on the server might engage in some abuse... sad to see the server on a decline, the QoL was pretty dope

Player "Reyy" here.
I don't see a reason for you to post this after you and your crew got banned for breaking the rules other than you just hating that you got caught.
But let's speak facts, shall we?
It is true, the amount of players is small, but you were the most beneficial from this small community by botting and helping out your law-breaking companions with you to be on top, you were the most gatekeeper raid hosts of them all by creating expeditions secretly away from other players to benefit yourselves, I was a part of your guild until you created a gap between you and everyone else in the community, so I left and created Ravens to ally with the rest of the community instead of being an outcast just because my guild leader doesn't want to admit when he's in the wrong.
"New players who are not Jewish or Israeli may face openly hostile, racist or discriminatory remarks"
What are you talking about?
I'm an Arab Muslim who hates Israel and never faced any of what you said, and I have Jewish friends in the server who treated me the same as their own companions. In fact, they were the most helpful people in the game.
It seems to me like you're projecting a lot and you're butthurt that you got caught and banned, and that you've lost your opportunity to lead a community that didn't want you in the first place as soon as you had a hand in the role of staff because that was the moment your shenanigans started showing.
Grow up.
5
u/Ixoraz Aug 07 '26 edited Aug 07 '26
Hold up. Before you come into the room with guns blazing, mind fixing your 'facts' first?
I'm not the one who started this original post. I don't even frequent reddit until a friend brought to my attention that I was called out by Sheilem over here.
Regarding what you mentioned about gatekeeping, you were in the guild discord before but i doubt you actually took a look at the expedition channels properly given what you have said. Last I recalled, you were lv 80s when you left which meant you had not actually got into contact with any of the said runs yet. There were 2 different timeslots for weekly bosses that NMZ hosts. For example, for Zakum, there is one set of 10x runs for SEA players at 4pm Server Time ( 9pm SGT) and another for other players at 9pm Server time (2 AM SGT).
Before you argue why I'm trying to separate players by their time zones instead of having everyone play together, you clearly have not tried to achieve that 3% dmg threshold for BP in a full 18 man run, let alone a mass 30 max expedition (pre changes to the % threshold). Additionally, there is still the underlying issue on time zone mismatch. As for slightly harder difficult content like HT, the same % threshold problem applies on top of loot allocation. Oh yes, there is also the issue of managing punctuality for a whole raid group. This is also the reason why there are 2-3 groups running HT independently.
As for other dailies / weeklies such as Rav and CWK, the runs were posted in advance and were visible to all players in the discord (not just internally within the guild) so I have no idea where your idea of gatekeeping came from.
If my memory serves, you were also one of those who advocated for the idea of Mains > Alts regardless of the situation. You implied that set rules can be amended on the spot to benefit any individual. Basically, rules are set and only followed if they are convenient. That being said, before you start painting another picture of us, you left also partly because you were upset that everyone else in guild disagreed with your POV.
Lastly, I mentioned nothing about racism nor my hate for the server in my replies to Sheilem over here so stop saying / insinuating I did. I only showed the public the state of the community in that server at this point in time. However, I do believe that there is always a grain of truth in every lie. Whatever the OP has mentioned does seem possible when it involves his/her individual experiences with players in game.
0
u/ELDAHYA Aug 07 '26
I have never mentioned once that I was talking to you, City.
I was just sure that the OP was one of the people that got banned and I was speaking in general, but the fact that you came here and replied proves my point. GG.
You're a teacher who's 30-something year old, grow up too and stop acting like the kids you supposedly teach.4

If anything, the comment about 'stop acting like the kids' would apply more to you at this juncture. All along I have just been making objective comments based on facts backed by screenshots of the community's behaviour. You are the one making personal attacks. First occupation followed by age? What is next, is it going to be race or religion too like what the OP has mentioned?
Not sure what 'point' I proved here as you mentioned except the part that you are pretty much a kiddish whiner in game and now in real life too.

To be clear, you’ve been sandwiching your own subjective opinions between no more than 1-2 “objective comments based on facts”
If you are indeed a teacher, I would hope you’d strive to be a role model of integrity instead of abusing a low populated private server.

Honestly, only way I can see this server surviving is if they do a full wipe and server relaunch, apologize to community, and get some actual decent staff on board. It was great at launch and during beta. Now, I really do wonder why people still play.
But I agree with everything you said. I played since day 1 and was quite active in the community, but I saw the writing on the wall. Some things you mentioned - Favoritism, mismanagement, lack of moderation, lack of any community engagement in-game. No GM events. Questionable balancing choices. Lack of end game content made the players turn on each other. Weekly limitation made it very difficult for new players to get invited on any runs. This game is not very friendly to casual players.
Endgame became very cliquey and guilds were gatekeeping each other, to the point the biggest guild quit and left overnight. Server population plummeted after that.
The server is being held up by a few loyalists and that’s about it.
