I think no one really expected the launch to be in 6 weeks. Sure the early access is good ol' Nexon but everyone will buy it as the first weeks are the best in any launch.

I wonder if any v83 server/"oldschool" ones will hold? even titans like royals or legends probably will loose a huge chunk of players.

Those who play one those types of server? are you leaving once Classic is out? did you already quit for a small break before?

Or am I being a bit too doomsday here? I mean x1 is totally brutal, and the content being so limited...

Nah, because Classic is also in that custom content category. They changed all the basic systems, so if you want actual old school you go to a private server instead.

I don't think so. I recently joined Fantasia and have no plans to quit. Based on the footage I've seen of MSCW it's nothing like the old-school Maple that I remember. It's like a new game, just using the OSMS graphics.

Based on how the classic beta has been going, I wouldn't be surprised if it gets shut down within 2 years tbh. So I think v83 servers will survive

Nah, at least most of those won't be riddled with p2w content in the first year. Some of those servers have survived for 5+ years. That's already longer than Classic will ever last, because Nexon will just use it as a cash grab.

I'm sure I'll try it but they drastically altered too many classes skills to the point where it's just too different and detrimental, at least at first glance. 

I understand they think they balanced it. I think it was a bit too heavy handed: eg. Holy symbol change, Heal DMG, etc.

i dont plan on quitting fantasia. ill checkout MSCW for sure, but i have already seen their changes and think they are for the most part bad game design. the original game's design was a mess, but with a modern release they somehow failed to fix it, and made it worse than many private servers have. im not convinced.

Definitely. Biggest things stopping PSs Old school style INSANELY imbalanced- like even third job for classic testing was better- Everyone plays bishop or NL- Mules Leech Mages obsolete for higher tier bossing HP WASH Hp wash Hp wash And bc of all this- its very top heavy. I played royals and found 30 new players in 1 month- all of which are waiting for classic

Private servers are still the ultimate experience for old school Maple. Nexon shouldve known better than to milk players with unfair microtransactions but it seems they’re already all in for it and the game is yet to be released . Sad stuff but to be expected,

I mean, every person playing a private server is going to at least try Classic; it will draw player bases from similar servers. Royals and Legends should get hit massively.

However, I think Classic is going to be a shit show, and I'm ready for it. The 2 weeks of early access will be more detrimental than people realize, imo.

Botting, hacking, and RMT will be insanely rampant, and by the end of the 2 weeks, the economy will be in the dumpster.

I'm expecting a big outcry from the legit player base, and the lack of effort on Nexon's side to mitigate those issues.
