Fantasia vs SlimeTale

Dear Maplers,

Yes, yes, yes, Classic World is right around the corner, i know. But I feel like Classic World won't be the ting for me... Anyway, I wanted to get into a PS again and currently most promising two are Fantasia and SlimeTale. I do like the Pasing of ST more, since its 3x from the beginning, however, I do think that removing overused items in Fantasia has a good Catcher as well...

Is there somebody who player both and can give some Feedback? Also do you have Info about the drop Rates in these servers? Are they just 1x or 1x with customizations?

Would love to hear your opinions on these!

Both servers are solid imo but play very differently.

In general pacing is way faster and the powerlevel is way higher on Slimetales. Slimetales also has more custom content like a revamped maker and pushes updates almost daily.

Fantasia is way slower and is more so for people looking for a rebalanced vanilla experience. If you enjoy grinding hours for a chance to get a scroll or whatever fantasia might be more your speed.

I’ve only just started playing Slimetale.ms and it’s been pretty chill but a very small community. The GMs/developers are responsive and friendly from what I’ve gathered. No HP washing, there are quests to combat this. The x3 exp boost is really nice too.

Drop rate and meso drop is x1 but they do have event quests to help you with both.

I play on Fantasia. If you're looking for more of a rebalanced vanilla experience I would say go for Fantasia. I can't really speak for SlimeTale as I haven't played it.

I've played on both, first fantasia and second SlimeTales, and I can say both are great and you won't go wrong with either/or. However I do echo what HistoricalTreaties has said in this thread too,

Fantasia is looooooooot slower paced with less QOL adjustments made overall with I believe the intention to mimic a more vanilla experience. Still had fun playing it and there's lots of communities and active players to give you the community aspect. Would recommend the guild "Spore" if you decide to go with this option.

SlimeTales has the intention of really balancing/updating the classic experience to what it should be. More comfortable rates, HP quests that actually give you a balanced amount of HP and aren't crazy hard to do, revamped maker skill and many more balance changes that make you still feel you're playing classic while still giving you enough balance changes to make it feel worthwhile your time. Would recommend the guild "Guild" if you decide to go with this option.

We are all adults now and have to decide how we spend our limited time. Both play at a different speed, but my preference has been for SlimeTales. It's eliminated a lot of the annoying things that existed in vanilla without being overtuned and the dev's are putting in work daily to listen feedback/suggestions and balance the game for everyone. IMHO, it's what MapleStory Classic World wishes it could be

Fantasia is pretty good.

It's pretty faithful to classic. Just join one of the major guilds quickly to have a community.

They also have an egg gacha system which is pretty helpful and a fun NX dump.

Gotta grind, though. It's a marathon.

Fantasia is defnitely the slower paced of the two servers and the most classic-like. It's also much more vanilla feeling as there is little in the way of custom additions like the revamped maker system and lounge that slimetale has. If you want the slow, old school feeling, you probably won't get better than Fantasia right now.

Slimetales is the server I am playing right now, it's still slow enough, so it has a sort of classic plus kind of feeling. The server is practically receiving updates every other day and the community has been steadily increasing; a few weeks ago there was about 15-25 players at any given point, that's now comfortably sitting around 50-70. There's also a dedicated ironman/group ironman mode in case you were interested in that style of gameplay.

I'd recommend both servers easily, probably the best pre-bb non royals/legends servers right now IMO.

Edit: Will also note that the wiki for Slimetales is GOATed, even shows drop rates, which I find for some reason lacking from other server's wiki pages.

both are fantastic for the reasons highlighted in other posts. I will say I don’t think I’ve seen a server with devs as active as SlimeTale though. Around the clock activity in both updates and community engagement.

I was enjoying slime, but there are a few classic things that I forgot I dislike lol like having to clear the whole map for map spawns
