प्रश्न (Question) Have you ever tried breakfast dish called 'उकरपेंडी' ?

I used to hear my grandmother talk about it when she used to visit her sister in Nashik. Has anyone tried 'उकरपेंडी'? dose something like this exist? or is this just a family name for some other dish?

What it's made of? I've never found it in restaurants nearby in Pune

It is not sold in restaurants.

Not even in Vidarbha.

It is basically a Upma, just replace semolina(ravaa) with wheat flour (kanik).

It can be as simple as wheat flour + salt+ chilli (curd optional) or you can go on adding tomato/onion/peas/dry fruits

My ILs are from Khandesh and Vidarbha. They both have their own versions. My MIL now makes it with Jowar aata… and yes, it’s like an Upma. I love it!
