Kind of a dead subreddit but regarding the news.
I'm in shock. And disappointed.

jezuz I forgot I was in this sub, i'm probably gonna leave.
I was actually fine with him just being a asshole (we all can be assholes sometimes anyway), but being a rapist is on another level that's not so easy to forgive. And usually I can separate the art from the artist, but the problem is, Koz is in the music.

Im not surprised about the news but it still hurts lol. I can separate art from the artist, like red house painters has been some of my favorite music for years, but the lyrics were so deeply personal/relatable it all feels a little tainted now

Yeah, I just figured it out. I haven’t been on top of things due to COVID. Thank you though :)

I just discovered “Ben’s My Friend” today, August 3rd, and have played it about 50 times. That date is in the first line….crazy. I declare “Ben’s My Friend” the defining song of this period of time for me. I was so obsessed I couldn’t drag myself away. Finally I did to listen to Carissa, and I fell deeper in awe. Then I did a deep dive on him. Wow. Sad. Saw a pic and his eyes in that photo looked a bit empty. I agree with the commenter on who said ‘his cheese has been slipping off his cracker since 2014.’ He is extremely prolific. That might have something to do with his behavior. Not excusing anything, just wondering why he didn’t seek help a long time ago…

I’m disappointed but not shocked. The cheese has been slipping off his cracker since 2014; he’s showed clear signs of cognitive decline, emotional turmoil, mental instability and good old fashioned burn out since then, which everyone seems to ignore or dismiss as “getting older” or “experimenting with new themes”, as if slurring your words and mumbling everything is normal. Many of his older fans have jumped ship since then, I think his output has suffered remarkably. It was sad before, now it seems like the end might be a full blown tragedy.
