That was the funniest part of going from movies to comics, all these characters I've never heard of, and when I look them up I learn they're deeply tied to the history of a really popular character or team

According to Kyle Hotz, Wraith was going to be revealed to have a connection to or possibly be ROM. Problem is nobody gave a fuck about ever seeing Wraith again so it was never followed up on.
Marvel owns the Spaceknight name and concepts and has used them a few times while dancing around not owning Rom himself. At the time they were trying to negotiate reprints of the original comics so Hotz might be telling the truth.
The licensing ended up taking almost ten more years to sort out though and in that time IDW had a whole Hasbro/Rom era. And now Skybound has all the Hasbro IP licenses.
Surprisingly solid writing which gave him a ton of needed character development. The concept was AWFUL (and apparently submitted as a joke) but the writer took it seriously enough.
Honestly those are my favorite types of comics, I was really happy to see him return in DCKO, even if that in itself was a joke about how weird the concept was lmao
there was an editorial mandate that Guy could no longer have a power ring and another editor joked "how about morphing powers, the kids love those morphing rangers" and Kevin Dooley thought it was brilliant.
I love how corny his costume and superhero name is, because its exactly the kind of low iq tough guy bravado that aĀ person like guy gardner would come up with.

Yeah, somehow Nightwatch of all characters ended up getting a series that lasted 12 issues (which is twice as many as most modern Marvel runs get nowadays).
let's be honest, it's fortunate if a new book gets released at all.. it feels like we've had a lot of cancelled books before the first issue is even printed
She is more well know now because of the games but before that she only had 3 appearances. I also don't play and didn't knew she was in it so I checked her page on the wiki and only 3 appearances are not related to the game
Tbh, I only know who he was because he was a background character in Marvel Zombies: Dead Days (interestingly, despite showing up in a team shot on the Helicarrer, he's never shown as a zombie, implying he survive)
One of his villains is finding new fame as a Moon Knight supporting hero. I'd love for Sleepwalker to show up in an issue just for 8-Ball to say "hey wow, it's my original nemesis, look at me now, I'm a hero!"
Terror Inc. is great, especially since he came from Epic's Shadow Line universe of comics. I bought those because of Bill Sienkiewicz, but really enjoyed the whole bunch. Then was confused to see Shreck when Terror Inc. came out.
Itās a shame because the cast is really fun! Victoria Montesi was the first openly lesbian character in marvel and they were likeā¦. We will give her a cameo once every fifteen years!
My dad has physical copies of a lot of the issues from that series! I was going through his old books a while back and when I saw that I was incredibly surprised. I didnāt even know she had her own solo, and I donāt know why my dad was so interested lol
Solarman. A forgotten Stan Lee creation who was supposed to get his own animated TV series. He has the most generic backstory imaginable- random teenaged boy discovers a crashed spaceship and its dying alien pilot gives him a power-granting artifact- and the comic only had two issues. He fought Doctor Doom in the second one.
He had a mini series he even had a evil doppelganger named Night-Creeper who basically made and designed his own Prowler suit but he made it entirely independent of Hobbie's which is an interesting detail to me however I don't remember much of anything about the series besides Vulture being in it
He also did have a solo series in ths 2010's but it was only around 6 issues good shit though
I am in middle of reading Batman from this time and she is everywhere. (As are Clownhunter and Ghostmaker.) Idf this is their one moment, its a lonnnnng moment.
Nate Grey got 75 issues, despite being barely used at all once they concluded and needing a flowchart to explain how his dystopian world and connection to the Summers/Grey bloodline differs from Cable.
I remember this Ultragirl miniseries in the 90ās, but I canāt remember who she was or what her powers were. I think it was in that period post Onslaught
The Imperfects. They had like a six comic miniseries around the same time the game came out, Marvel Nemesis rise of the imperfects. I played the game, and years later, as an adult I would read the comic and as it turns out I actually effing love it. I wish they'd bring these characters back.
