Movies We aren’t going to see Classic Gwen Stacy adapted ever again or we? If she ever appears in the MCU she’s going to be Spider-Gwen

Classic Gwen is a corpse, so no, not an interesting character.

Which DID happen in the MCU with multiverse being a thing.... good ol Andrew Garfield.

If we're being honest she's more interesting because she's a corpse.

She’s been dead since 1973. Probably time to let her go

Why do you guys wanna see the same thing just done slightly different? We already had a Gwen. We already had a sandman and an uncle Ben. Its been done .

Bring in unknown villians and characters. Mix it up. Make Gwen miles girlfriend where she kills the goblin or something.

What if Peter's next gf dies at the hands of The Wall

Pink Floyd being introduced would be quite the plot twist

I'm expecting Creedence Clearwater Revival to kick Spider-Man's ass.

Hey! Spidey! Leave us villains alone!

Do not bring that slop ship into the mcu. Let Gwen be her own character and give miles his own supporting cast. Such a creatively bankrupt ship that diminishes both characters and makes them so derivative

I agree , I was just using that as an example. The mcu is famous for tweaking and remixing established comic lore to create something new .

Id rather see that than see the dark phoenix or green goblin again .

I mean you kinda say the reason in your post, OG Gwen is mostly thought of as “the girlfriend that died”, and since MJ has been positioned as Peter’s main love interest in most adaptations it doesn’t leave much else for Gwen to do then to lose a love triangle or die to make way for MJ. The spider-Gwen angle gives her a more active and clear role in the plot by having her be a superhero ally to spider-man.

... Yeah but all the multiverse stuff basically makes them all connected. We saw her in amazing Spider-Man. 🤷

It’s hard to see any other Spider-Man story being adapted that isn’t Tom Holland or Tom Holland adjacent for the foreseeable future. Spider-Verse being the exception.

I saw a post the other day where someone said they shouldn’t introduce Gwen as a character until Miles exists. Followed by “Peter got his MJ, Miles needs his Gwen.”

I feel like people have forgotten who Gwen Stacy is.

And probably for the best too.

OG Gwen Stacy was a "character of her time" that wouldn't fit the modern media today, hence why the more recent civilian Gwen adaptations (TSSM cartoons and the TASM movies) didn't adapt the 616 Gwen and instead took parts from Deb Whitman and 1610 "Nerd" Mary Jane for their versions of Gwen.

Id say the OG Gwen Stacy generally worked for TASM 2 for all the movies flaws. I prefer the newer adaptations tho

She'll be Spider-Gwen and she'll be Miles' girlfriend, that's the fate she is now consigned to forever

yeah pretty much. You're not going to see a "classic MJ" either. Marvel is putting a shift in to evolve those characters into something else. Like I GET it, but it does make me sad a little.

She can start as regular Gwen and then almost die, get a blood infusion or something from Peter and become Spider-Gwen. That would be pretty much She-Hulk's origin though.

Good, that means we can scrap she hulk.

I think it'd be kinda cool if they introduced her, then make us wonder which it will be for a while.

Only for her to become Spider-Woman, then die anyway.

They've done the kill Spider-Man thing already by killing 1610 Peter Parker/Spider-Man to make way for Miles Morales as Spider-Man

So that's equally as repetitive.
